NT measurements

Would the sonographer automatically tell me this or would I have to ask?

Are the results then combined with the bloods already taken at booking in or further bloods?

When will I find out result?

Nervous as scan approaches next week.

When I had my NT scan while pregnant with DD3 20mths ago they told me there and then but that was before the overall risk factor was combined with bloods. I'm currently 39wks preg with no.4 and as it's now a combined test/measurement they didn't tell me at my NT scan this time and said I had to wait til I had phone call or letter frm MW. However, I did watch the scan screen very carefully and managed to see all the measurements that were taken to get their average, so I would suggest you do the same if you're anxious about it. The results are combined with bloods taken about the same time (though can't remember exactly when), but not with booking bloods.
Good luck, sure everything will be fine! :)

When you have the scan the sonographer prints off a sheet that is attached to your maternity notes. It will say what the measurement is on it. After my scan I went in another room to see a midwife who took new bloods. I was advised that if there were any problems I would be contacted by phone (within 2 or 3 days) and if everything was ok I would just receive a letter through the post within 2 weeks.

Hope this helps

And you would hear pretty quickly if there's a problem or they're concerned, (just a few days I think.) If not they usually write to you which takes a bit longer. (Sorry to be vague, can't quite remember as seems a lifetime ago now for some reason!)

Ahh yes gemma it's all coming back to me now! I had to go to pathology after scan for bloods to be taken. They didn't include NT measurement on my print off though :(
