It has to be, common sense says it is but sitting on my own now dd in bed worrying.

Been having mild but annoying cramps since about lunchtime. Its way too early.

I would call the MW just to put your mind at rest.

dreamfeeder · 03/11/2011 19:49

how far along are you??

Minus273 · 03/11/2011 19:56

I'm 34+6 sorry I was messaging DH on MSN as he is away. A bit scared to phone MW in case she suggests being in fo monitoring it would be alot to arrange DD1 to be watched and get the bus just for constipation Blush.

Is the pain more on your left side? I had this type of pain which did turn out to be constipation... the pain was mostly on my left and particularly sore if touched or pressed.

Obviously always better to be safe than sorry though... hope it gets better soon (FWIW my boys were born at 33 weeks and are just fine Smile)

Across the front, low down about pubic bone height.

IS it more of a constant pain or coming and going pain?

mumt1 · 03/11/2011 20:21

Doesn't sound like constipation due to where the pain is...

Minus273 · 03/11/2011 20:22

Coming and going.

Honestly, call the midwife. I've got no idea, so not a suggestion grounded in any kind of medical knowledge (!) but if you're worried it's simply not worth the risk.

You can tell her you're on your own with DD and she might think it's constipation or might tell you to get checked tomorrow, but if she still thinks you should go then you probably should, even if you have to bundle up DD (I know what you mean - DS is in bed and I wouldn't be keen to move him either, but sometimes that's not the biggest priority).

OK apologies for TMI but just been to toilet and pain although not away has eased. Will give it a couple of hours and see if any change before phoning. So determined that I am not giving birth before Dh gets back.

At the front doesn't sound like constipation. Why not give midwife a call anyway, or labour ward? They won't insist you come in, but may suggest a trip in tomorrow

banana87 · 03/11/2011 21:43

It doesn't found like constipation but does sounds very much like something I had the other week. I did go in, ESP as pains were coming and going. Was monitored and they were not contractions. They didn't know what it was but a hot bath and paracetemol got rid of it. Have you tried either of those?

Minus273 · 03/11/2011 21:47

No not yet, may be a good idea.

Forgot to come back and update. MW thinks its pubic symphisis pain. Went away over night and has come back this evening so being up and about seems to make it worse and make it more likely that that is what it is. Feeling a bit more relaxed now. I may be fed up but I'd rather wait until I'm past 37 weeks if I can.

minus glad you talked to MW. I had SPD in my last pg, it's bloody painful, much sympathy. Try and rest as much as you can. Take care of yourself. xx

Minus273 · 04/11/2011 21:20

It may sound strange but I'm glad its that and not labour IYSWIM.

Doesn't sound strange at all! You've not got too long to go now anyway. Best of luck xxx
