excruciating back pain in early pregnancy

I'm about 9-10 weeks pg with DC2 and woke up yesterday with a sore back - just the small of my back, nowhere else. It has got progressively worse, so today I am crying everytime I move. Normally when this happens I drug myself up to the eyeballs and have an early night, in the hope that a relaxed night of sleep will cure it (it normally does).

However, I am really not keen on the brufen+paracetomol+hot water bottle route I usually take, so was wondering what I can do. Is there anything except sit it out?

(to make matters even more peachy, have grim morning sickness and development of a cold, so everytime I cough or vomit, it gets worse. Gah!!)

Take the pills, I have been signed off for 7 weeks with back/pelvic pain and I am 21+6. You are really not doing yourself any favours being in agony it is bad for you and the baby. I usually avoid meds even when not pg but have had to take cocodamol prescribed my Dr. Take paracetamol as it is harmless and get a gp appointment tomorrow.

Have you had any cramping or bleeding?

no cramping/bleeding, seeing midwife tomorrow. will try paracetamol and hot water bottle later maybe. thanks :) hope you're ok, 7 weeks sounds horrendous :(

It doesn't hurt too bad as long as I rest, just work is a no go as I have an active job. Just rest up and get a physio appt. you can always cancel if you get better but can take a while to come through. :)
