Flu vaccine?

Just been at midwife and she very briefly and vaguely said I should get the flu vaccine as I'm pg.

I'm normally really trusting of the nhs guidance, got DD vaccinated according to their timetable without really thinking. But it seems a bit wrong to be getting a vaccine while growing a baby. In a completely irrational and odd way.

Just wondered whether everybody else is just going ahead and having it? Are there arguments for or against that I might be ignorant of?

I had mine 3 weeks ago! no problems and apparently it makes the baby immune for the first 6 months of their life too!

Can be really dangerous to get the flu when pregnant. I vote for it. But its totally your choice.

I never got any side effects either a bit of a blocked nose at night but nothing else!

Hey KD I'm goin to docs at five to have mine done. Feeling rotten at the min, really light headed etc, I'm only five and half wks. I'm just worried bout the horror stories and many deaths of pregnant ladies due to swine flu etc last yr, so thought it was best to go and get it, as advised.

Although not looking forward to the dead arm I'm hearing everyone talk about!!
