Anyone Else Eating Non Stop?

I am 13 weeks pregnant today and am finding that I just can't stop eating. I need to eat every 3 hours to stop feeling sick and its got to the point where I am eating 2 breakfasts and 2 lunches just to feel vaguely human. This is my second pregnancy and never had any of this with first and bit worried that at this rate I am going to be obese before Christmas!

Hi,

I am the same at 14 + 4 weeks pregnant. Although mu bump dictates what I can eat, marshmellows okay pasta not so good. This is baby number one for me and I am feeling the same I will be huge by Christmas at this rate.

I have been told to enjoy it and give into my bump as I am no longer calling the shots. Smile

Me too. HUGE

Ah yes. I am 13 weeks tomorrow and have accepted that I will be having 2 breakfasts for the duration just as I did when pregnant with DD. This time I feel it is more justified as, bizarrely, I have evening sickness so don't tend to eat anything after about 6pm so think it is OK to be demolishing food come morning. I'm trying to eat healthily and so, when the hunger strikes, go for fruit first but fruit isn't touching the sides as all my body wants is carbs, more carbs with perhaps a small amount of chocolate. I was wondering earlier whether I should actually cut out the fruit to reduce the overall calorie intake but that just seems wrong.

I was like this too, and at 36 weeks I'm now eleven stone (almost three stone heavier than I was). I did start off borderline underweight however and the HCP seem completely unconcerned by the gain, so I'm assuming its just something my body needs to do. My MIL followed exactly the same pattern with both her pregnancies and lost it all again within a year. If the HCPs aren't worried I wouldn't be either.

Murtette, same with me too. Only carbs will do! Oh well, shall just settle in for the duration and enjoy.

I am 13 +4 and exactly the same. I am a carbosaurus at the mo. My DD is 15 and I don't remember being anything like this with her. I will sometimes eat cold pasta (which I would normally have for lunch) as my second breakfast.

I didn't have much sickness with DD either, but this time have had it bad from about week 7. That constant feeling of nausea is passing now, thankfully, but my appetite is still the same. I am only 5'12 too! I am scared I will be as wide as I am tall by 40weeks!!

I am also on a post-8pm drinks ban, as I have been up to the toilet as much as 7 times a night - very frustrating when it seems to be only a thimble sized amount of pee coming out each time, even though I feel bursting when I wake up!

Oh, and congratulations btw! Smile

TopazMortmain · 04/11/2011 10:52

Yup! Grin

First breakfast, second breakfast, elevenses, lunch, tiffin, tea, dinner, supper. Have put on 13kg and am still in second trimester.

Even this thread is making me hungry Smile

saoirse86 · 04/11/2011 10:58

Oh I was like this too. I didn't even have the excuse of it being to stop nausea, I was just hungry. I put on 16lb by 16 weeks and 3.5 stone by 40 weeks!

My sister, who was due a week before me, stayed with us for a while from about 6-8.5 months pg and she couldn't believe how much I ate. There was one day when we went out to eat, then when we got home I started making some more dinner because I was hungry already. She was shocked! Blush

Sandra2011 · 04/11/2011 11:42

It's ok to eat. Just watch what you're eating as you might be sorry later when trying to shift all that extra weight.

I have a big bowl of porridge (with bananas or apples) in the morning and that takes me all the way to the lunch time.

I don't buy any cookies or other "bad" stuff as I have no selfcontrol at all.

figgygal · 04/11/2011 13:14

i was the same due to low blood pressure if i didnt eat regularly i would get dizzy though never sick really.

Am 35 wks now and for the last few months have had a demon sweet tooth and have indulged to the tune of 2 and a half stone.....oops

Crosshair · 04/11/2011 13:20

This started for me last week(30 weeks) I just cant seem to stop. Blush Im loving chocolate as well and pre pregnancy I was never that bothered.

Sandra2011 · 04/11/2011 14:49

figgygal How low is your blood pressure?

To my knowledge eating doesn't effect that. It's the low blood sugar levels that makes you dizzy.

MrsCog · 05/11/2011 07:31

I was the same, but only until around 15/16 weeks, and then my appetite returned to a more normal level, so you might find that it tails off a bit. I paniced as I gained 1/2 stone in the first 12 weeks, but then since then, I think my weight gain is just 'baby' and maybe an extra pound or two.

SeriouslyStrongCheddar · 05/11/2011 08:53

Yep, I'm only 7+4 or thereabouts and I'm eating a ridiculous amount. I'm very overweight to start with so don't want to gain more weight than I need to, but 'second breakfast' is becoming so common I think I'm part hobbit.

Tried to keep things vaguely under control / healthy until about a week ago when I started feeling even more rotten - I've been nauseous for over four weeks already so don't envisage this is going to get better any time soon!
