Nearly 6 weeks and my skin broke out is that OK? Is it because of stress?

Hi. I am nearly 6 weeks and so far my skin was ideal, but for the past couple of days I started to get some breakouts and white heads on my face and chest. I am surprised it happens now. I generally don't have very good skin and it worsens towards periods but during my first pregnancy it was super clean and glowing. This pregnancy also started with a very nice skin but by end of 5th week it started to get inflamed. I wounder if this is normal shift of hormones (why now?) or something is wrong or that it might be related to the stress that I am under for a past few weeks (not ideal, I know). Please let me know if someone experienced breakouts at this point in pregnancy.

Ive never ever had spots. Not even when I was a teenager but the day I found out (5wks) to about 11-12 weeks I had breakouts on me shoulders back an hairline. I felt grim cos it's all hormonal so not as if I could use tea tree oil. But after 11 weeks or so it cleared up and not had owt since. Hormones ey?!

I did. Its just the excess hormones your body is producing. Just ensure your face is kept clean, and maybe try cleansing toning at least 1ce preferably twice a day, and use a non-oil based moisturiser. I found night cream bought me out in spots..try sudacrem, the antisceptic in it is great for spots!

I always get spots when I'm due, and did this month when I found out only twice as bad! I literally look like a teenager. (well, feel like it)

I've used a face mask from lush and that's helped sooth them down a bit. It's all hormones, maybe they've just affected you differently this time?

Same here- had about three spots all the way through my teenage years and then was horrified to get a breakout in the first trimester (yet another one of those things no-one warns you about).

As all you tend to hear about is 'glowing', it does seem very odd when you suddenly look, feel and act like a teenager. As melliebobs says, nothing you can do, not stress related, just look forward to weeks 12ish onwards when they (should!) disappear!

My skin has been horrendous since week 5, and still is at 17+6. Last time round it was lovely.

My skin was different with all three of my pregnancies; no rhyme or reason when it comes to hormones!

thanks for your comments. I did hear that some women have break outs when pregnant but I am surprised it did not start earlier. I have hormones raging for at least past 3 weeks but only now I got skin problems. I am surprised at this change of directions...
