Paranoid? Yes but ttc and fillings at dentist

Had a mmc late September and currently ttc again. Dentist tells me I need a filling asap, but I'm paranoid about whether it would have any effect on baby, if we've managed to make one this month. Only just ovulated so won't find out for a while.

Obviously could wait till I know for sure but appt booked for this Saturday, childcare already arranged, and will have to get it done eventually. So yes I know I'm being paranoid but don't want to jinx anything and go through mc again

Tell me I'm being daft?

Yes your being daft lol you get free dental care when pregnant so i would imagin they wouldn't do that if it wasn't totally safe.

I had 2 teeth out 4 fillings and 2 white front fillings to sort my teeth between 6 and 14 weeks and all was fine. Just let dentist know your preg or might be incase it makes any difference to what he gives you mine just told me to take paracetamol instead of ibuprofen and asked me to go to the docs for antibiotics if not healing well.

Sorry to hear of your loss

Agree you just need to tell them

I am 28 weeks and just had a filling today. Does seem to hurt less when it's free. :) As far as I can tell work at the dentist is fine although I am waiting to get a wisdom tooth out at the hospital and they won;t do that until next year, think that's because of the painkillers and in case of infection though.

Hi, really sorry to hear of your loss.

As someone who posted on here fairly recently following a horrible ordeal at the dentist where my dentist insisted I needed the filling, but refused to give me the injection, I have had confirmation from my midwife that the dentist was being ridiculous and that there is no reason why you can't have an injection or amalgam filling... so go for it! :) x

Thanks for talking some sense into me! I know it's daft, but you know when your mind just starts to make you wonder!.....

Will try to get my rational brain to take over again
