Are these Brackston Hicks?

I'm 25 weeks and for a couple of weeks now, I can sometimes feel my bump tightening and getting hard. It's not painful but I feel it happening. I can feel it more frequently if I've done something physically exhausting.

Are these Brackston Hicks already?

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I think so ... I had similar so asked my midwife + she said they were. I kept getting them after food initially but now it's a bit more frequent (I'm 29 weeks now).

kdiddy, that's reassuring to know!

I have these too - am 33 weeks and have been having them since about 22 weeks.

Newbie labour question - will labour contractions feel like a cross between this and period pain? Confused

MrsHuxtable · 31/10/2011 17:35

I'm wondering the same Stripey! Please let us know as soon as you find out.

I never had BH with ds but labour pains did feel a bit like period pains to start off with then got more..........intense.

MummySSB · 31/10/2011 21:50

This sounds like BH - or at least I hope so, cos I've been having them more recently - 39w tomorrow.

Also, can I add - I've had a tingly sensation over t bump in t last cpl of days - almost like pins and needles, lasts for a few mins, doesnt hurt but just a funny sensation - anyone had that before?? Is that normal?

MiauMau · 31/10/2011 22:46

I guess I've been having them too, they feel a bit like the baby is putting on a Vitruvian man impression Smile

lollystix · 31/10/2011 22:51

Sound like BH - they don't hurt but a proper late third trimester one can stop you in your tracks. A contraction is like a totally intense one with period pain (x alot).

MiauMau · 31/10/2011 23:05

lollystix I have very very intense period pain, so this is going to be interesting Confused

diddygirl · 31/10/2011 23:20

You'll be crawling the wall with labour pain.........sorry! x

MiauMau · 31/10/2011 23:43

fun Hmm

They do sound like BH. I started having them at about 20 ish weeks with this pregnancy ( my third) and my doctor told me to take magnesium to try and slow them down as she said it's not good to have them so early. I was having them pretty constantly though. The magnesium worked and they stopped until fairly recently. Back again now with a force but that's all good as I'm 37 +5. Maybe ask your care giver about magnesium??
