I did a test yesterday which was when my period was due, I knew I was pg as my boobs were so sore. We are delighted to say the least, I have a DS 2yo already and we have been trying for a few months for DD2
Feeling a bit nervous and excited and want to tell the world but obviously can't so I am telling you!

belindarose · 30/10/2011 19:40

Yes, I have. Did a test last weekend so about 5 weeks now. I also have a 2yo. Had an early miscarriage in June, so scared and don't want to tell anyone. Fingers crossed for us both. Congratulations.

purplehonesty · 30/10/2011 19:46

Oh congrats Belinda! Hope all goes well for you, I have told one person as I spent the whole of last week with her and she kept saying I should get a test!
I keep going to the loo and praying I wont get my period!

I've just spent the week with PILs, not drinking wine, so they probably guessed but didn't say anything because of last time. I've got no symptoms as such, except tingly boobs every now and then, but having lots of problems sleeping and horrid mood swings.

purplehonesty · 30/10/2011 20:00

God me too, I could have swung for DH earlier when he mentioned I had put a bank statement in the bin instead of in the file.
I did a mega healthy shop in tesco today, fruit and veg and made soups and a nice shepherds pie for tea. Trying to be healthy and not eat everything in sight like last time!!
Sneakily peeking at maternity stuff on the next sale website but way too early for that and bad luck me thinks!

I have 3 parties coming up all with work folk in the next 5 weeks so I won't be able to keep it a secret long I dont think - two of them are overnights at posh hotels so I can't even use the I have to drive excuse. Help!

I just didn't mention the not drinking, just declined drinks when offered and they stopped offering after a few evenings. I'm not sure people at a works do would notice would they? I certainly wouldn't notice what others were drinking, but then I'm not very observant anyway! Our biggest problem will be keeping it from our very inquisitive 26 mo DD who already asked today 'Why you not allowed to drink wine mummy?' after she overheard DH and I talking. There is no way she'll keep quiet if I get morning sickness like last time! She'll be telling the whole street!

purplehonesty · 31/10/2011 07:47

Yeah you would think but there are only 12 of us going to a party night and I am the boss so it will be really obvious, plus the last time I couldnt drink at the Christmas party I was pregnant with DS! They are all staying the night and sharing rooms so it's not even as if I can go to bed early with a headache. I think I might have to say I am not feeling well or something. They already asked me last month if I was pregnant as I was feeling sick at work! Nosy buggers!
That's so cute that your lo might give you away, we asked ds yesterday if he would like mummy to have a baby and he said no, daddy have a baby'. He wont remember though.
When do you plan to tell people then will you wait for your scan?

OP posts:
belindarose · 31/10/2011 08:12

Yes, hopefully will get a scan just before Christmas. DD is currently obsessed with babies, but I'm sure that won't last! Have just spent 2 days clearing up after sick dog, but fortunately not feeling queasy yet! Ugh.

PoweredbyTea · 31/10/2011 20:56

Congratulations to you both! I've just found out too, tested yesterday morning. It's my first and I'm still in shock. We've told both sets of grandparents but that's it for now, though My DH is bursting to tell everyone we know!

Dinosaurdrip · 31/10/2011 21:15

Congratulations everyone! I found out last Monday after only 2 months of trying so was shocked to say the least. Especially as I thought I was having a really light period. This will be 3rd and final DC, already have 2DS 3 & 2. I'm so Exhausted which I don't remember from last time but am so excited.

PoweredbyTea · 31/10/2011 21:21

Congratulations Dinosaur! Wow you are really going to have your hands full.
It was only 2 months for us too, can't believe it. We've literally just moved into a new house and I think it must haves happened either first or second week in there! Have you told anyone yet?

belindarose · 31/10/2011 21:29

Congratulations, both of you. I told a good friend today. Only because she knew about the mc so I knew she'd be pleased for me, and also because I'll need to ask her to mind DD for midwife appointments.

Dinosaurdrip · 31/10/2011 21:36

I just can't keep my mouth shut, I've told my best friend and a few people at work but only because everyone knew we were trying and kept asking and I'm a rubbish lier!

Dinosaurdrip · 31/10/2011 21:42

So sorry about your mc belinda, here's to a nice easy no complications pregnancy for you, and everyone else! Its nice to be able to come on here and tell loads of people your news without it affecting you in rl.

purplehonesty · 01/11/2011 21:06

Ooh congrats to you both dino and tea, thats great news. It is so hard not to say anything especially if its your first.

I have been so tired and so hungry this week, I can't believe how quickly it has kicked in. I have been putting DS down for his afternoon nap and literally crawling into bed myself.

Off to work tomorrow for the first time in 2 weeks as been on hols so hopefully I'll be busy and it will keep my mind off how knackered I am!

Been trying on dresses for my 3 parties next month and hoping I still fit in them - do you think you start to show sooner with your 2nd or 3rd Dino?

Yuck Belinda sick dog is horrid, hope he is better now. Have you booked an apt with the midwife yet? I hope I get my scan before xmas too so at least I can tell a few people at xmas. But it might be afterwards going on weeks pg.

Thats lovely that DH is going all goggly about babies, mine keeps coming home and asking how we 'both' are - I find that very sweet and it keeps making me smile.

PoweredbyTea · 02/11/2011 20:06

Hope work was ok for you today purple. Your DH sounds lovely asking how you both are!
I haven't really felt any symptoms yet except shock. Got Gp appointment for next week and I'm really hoping the first scan works out for just before christmas too. Keep anticipating feeling sick but I guess it is too early.

purplehonesty · 02/11/2011 21:04

Thanks tea, work was not too bad actually although I felt like I ate my way through the day. I can't remember when my sickness kicked in last time I think it was about 6 weeks. In bed already after a bath am so tired!
Haven't booked midwife yet I'll wait til I'm about 8 weeks or so.
How was your day?

OP posts:
belindarose · 03/11/2011 07:15

Oh God, I'm already taking a day off and I'm only 6 weeks! I just cannot sleep. I've been awake since 3.30am and am utterly exhausted. I only work two days a week but it's pretty heavy going while I'm there. I'm going to take DD to CM and come back to bed. I'm totally crippled with anxiety about the whole thing really, and haven't slept past 5am since probably the day after I conceived!

I bet I won't have a job to worry about soon enough. Don't deserve to keep it really.

bradderswantsababy · 03/11/2011 13:56

Hello Lovely pregnant ladies. I can now add myself to this list as I got my BFP on Sunday :) Its our first and we were very lucky to get caught on my 2nd cycle.

Since I found out I cant stop doing tests as I have some of the amazon cheap ones left I know Im pregnant but I think its the satisfaction I get from seeing both lines show up!! Crazy I know.

I called my doctors up and the arranged my booking in apt with the MW for 17th Nov which im really looking forward too and seems scan date might just tie in nicely with Christmas.

I have had zero symptoms which I guess I should be pleased about but I feel a little bit cheated at least if you have sore boobs, tiredness or sickness you know its because you have a little life growing inside. I feel the same as before. Hope you are all having a good day :)

belindarose · 03/11/2011 13:59

Hey, congratulations. I've been a bit obsessed with testing too, but have stopped that now! Just waiting for some symptoms to kick in. Have no appetite, which I think happened just before the nausea started last time. Stupidly tired but that's because I can't sleep.

purplehonesty · 04/11/2011 19:00

hey bradders welcome and congrats, I am sure you will get your sore boobs soon enough and be crawling into bed around 7.30pm! Its a lovely feeling when you get that BFP, I bet it never gets old even if you've had loads of kids!

Belinda sorry to hear you are so knackered, try not to worry, I am sure things are going to be just fine (I know thats easy for me to say)
Could you take some holidays from work to give yourself a rest for a week?

I started to feel dizzy and churning stomach today for the first time and have to keep nibbling away at things, seems worse if I havent had much to eat.

I have told my mum now - I said to my DS, whats in mummy's tummy and he told her 'baby!' - she was delighted!
