hi there

I suppose i'm just looking for a bit of advice really..

I'm 18 + 5 pregnant with DC2 and today have had the worst backache ever, I am finding it really really difficult to sleep at the moment, I know I'm meant to lay on my left hand side so and doing that surrounded by pillows. However, whenever I wake up (for a wee usually!) everything hurts, bump, back and what is worse is my right bum cheek and all of my right leg right to my toes hurts so so much. I told my midwife last time i saw her that I was having difficulties and she said that all the women she sees are very tired and tha it might be the weather..

Today, just as a little extra annoyance I am having some pain in a laparoscopy scar, just feels like a bruise. I had a Fallopian tube removed in Feb but have had no real pain in scars until today - should I get this checked??

Oh - one final moan. Constipation. Enough said!

Thanks for reading if you've got this far, sorry for moaning! I just don't remember my last pregnancy being so so tough as early as this.

Sorry you're not feeling so great, when I had SPD I was in a lot of pain with my last 2 DSs all down one side from hip I'm not sure about weather theory! Could you talk to your GP instead? I didn't have the SPD until after 30+ but my point is sympathizing with pain -- hugs!
My scars also felt sore from time to time, obviously the bigger I got.

I hope can rest a bit better today, I am only in the early weeks but finding it very, very difficult. Hard to moan to the real world!

ecstatica · 30/10/2011 17:18

LOL, that is I hope YOU can rest better, not me, although i hope that too i guess!

Sounds like SPD, my SIL had it from around 12 weeks so entirely feasible.

I am with you on the pain front, I'm gonna try one of those dream geni pilliows to see if they help any. I also try and switch throughout the night from left to right side.
Constipation try fibregel ( safe in pregnancy ) it's grim but does the trick. Hope u feel better soon xxx

I have that pain, and I'm not pregnant. I ache like crazy when I wake up. The only time I don't hurt is if I have the bed to myself :( Gutting! Poor DP! Think for me the only solution is a bigger bed and more comfortable mattress.

It might not be because you are pregnant...

Thanks for your reply - hope that you feel better soon and manage to get some rest! My DH has been brill this weekend, taking DD out and about so I can have a break

I know what you mean about moaning in RL, I am so thrilled to be pregnant with a very much wanted sibling for my DD that I feel awful moaning about all my aches and pains.. They still do my head in though.

Anyway, it is really reassuring to hear that you have occasional aches in scars too - this is a new one for me.

I think I'll ring the GP tmrw, see if thy have anything more constructive than 'the weather'

Thank you again! Smile

I have found swimming really has helped with waking up aching - also, remember you can take paracetemol. Taking some painkillers meant that I would be able to get back to sleep if I woke up aching in the night.
