Has anyone used an out of date First Response test?

I just did - it expired in May, and I got an immediate (but faint) second line.

I'd love to know if anyone else has done this, and whether it ended up being the right result? I'm trying to stay calm in case it's just a dud Smile

Mine was a new one. Took it. Got a negative. Went to the doctors to find out why my period hadn't started and found out I WAS pregnant - 6 weeks nearly 7.

My advice is to take another test if you have any doubts. Try a different brand though! Would also like to add that false negatives are more common than a false positive.

I did! It was, I think, about 6 months out of date (been trying for a while & had pretty much given up) Couldn't believe it when I saw 2 lines.
Had to go out and buy another 2 tests though just to be sure, but that particular out of date one was accurate & i'm due 5th June.

I did and it was correctly negative.

CeeCee you have just made me cry! Congratulations to you, you must be over the moon Grin I hope what happened with you happens with me!

Maybe it is accurate then - I googled and it said that out of date tests can show false positives, but that's obviously not always the case thousandDenier. Thanks so much for sharing your result Smile

I have also tried an eBay cheapy, but the line is so faint I can't really tell if it would've been there anyway iykwim? I think there's always a slight line even if it's negative.

I don't think there is the second line, however faint, if any pregnancy test is negative.

From what I have gathered from previous threads on here, false positives (two lines, however faint one is) are pretty much impossible but false negatives (just one line, although very unlikely to be false) are possible.
