I have to go for a business trip when I will be 7.5/8 weeks and wonder that I may need some sort of maternity band instead of just unzipping my trousers in meetings. This is my second pregnancy and I remember a period with the first one when I was too small for maternity wear but my normal trousers were too tight. I am size 8 but even at 5 weeks (now) some days have pot belly from constipation/bloating and wounder when I will start to have real wardrobe problems... Any suggestions?

I'm nine weeks and trousers still fit, though def getting a bit tight! I think you'd probably be alright at 8 weeks, but if you'd rather feel safe then bring the band along.

I bloated a lot this pregnancy which I hadn't with my first and was definitely unable to zip up trousers by 8 weeks.

I was very bloated at 8 weeks. I'm now 14+5 and I haven't fit into my trousers since I was 6 weeks! I was a size 6-8.(Second preg)

I have a feeling you notice the difference faster if you were slim to start with, there is already plenty of padding around my stomach so I think I'm just sort of stretching into that!

Thank you for your replies! Yes, I think I rather have it with me on the trip then being caught with my trousers unzipped. Anyone tried bellaband or other similar bands? Are they any good to hold unzipped trousers early in pregnancy?
I had problem in my first pregnancy that there was a big gap between the time I can not close my normal trousers and can properly fill maternity ones...Any suggestions? Also...this pregnancy I will try not to look pregnant for as long as possible due to work commitments.

I got the most fantastic stretchy black trousers from next which kinda grew with me so they fit even when I wasn't showing and right up until i was due. They sound awful but were actually very smart and they hung really nicely and went with smart shirts/tops for work.
And they were about £17....bargain!!!
