strange sound from uterus

Ok, I am 39 weeks pregnant and for the past 4 nights have heard a whirring sound coming from my uterus, the top of it I think. It is not continuous but definitely has a pattern to it or rhythm if you like. Dh has heard it too. I have had popping sounds before, but never this strange whirring.
Feel a bit of a freak.
Anyone else had this, or could hazard a guess as to what it actually is?

I felt a whirring, down in the lower right area. When DS was born it turned out he Lind of shook his fists when he had a strop, in exactly the manner I'd felt.

Could it be something like that?

I can't actually feel anything, I can hear the whirring. It is very strange...

I have that and my DP has heard it too, he's putting it down to my uterus pushing against my diaphragm when I breath in (cause this is when it tends to happen) but I dunno now, x
