Pain around hips

I'm going to assume it's pregnancy related as I've never had it before and I'm now 16 weeks pregnant. It's like a band of pain around my lower back (right at the base of my spine) and hips. Worse when I'm either getting up from sitting or lying down.

Any idea what I can do to ease it? Is it worth seeing my gp about?

I have this too Empusa, it might be spd, I had it with my last pregnancy but from 20 wks. I am 15 1/2 wks (I'm on the April thread too, though someone has accidentally deleted me off the says thread. Oh well needed to update my due date to the 17th anyway) Does it make to walk with a waddle? Mine does now.

Maybe look up spd & see if it looks like it fits. www.pelvicpartnership.org.uk/ might be a good link to check out.

also worth noting that this could be postural hypotension (low BP when you change position) I get it often even before pregnancy, really bad back/hip pain and my legs go numb. It's literally all the blood draining to your legs when you get up

Buns that does sound like what I have. I'm waddling sometimes, feel like an old woman!

I had this on and off from around 10 weeks to 18 weeks. im now 21 weeks and no sign of it. I saw my gp who advised ibuprofen and having small burst of exercise in between resting with my feet up.
