hi there im 36/37 weeks now and been getting pains in my back and tightenings but i cant feel them when they come on because iu have nerve damage at the front of my belly. doctor thinks its from baby pressing on them. baby is head down now sure if its engaged. on tuesday i went for a wee in the morning and had a gush of water but wasnt sure if it was my waters going or just a long week. yesterday morning i had a little bit of clear jelly that i found. and then the pains were 10 mins apart but it was all in my back but when i felt my belly it was rosk solid then after a few minutes it got softer again, am i in early stages of labour, i have rang midwives but to be honest they didnt helo me or tell me what i should be looking for or when i should come in. not usre if this midwife was still on night shift and she couldnt be bothered speaking to me but now i dont want to ring them back to talk to someone as i feel like im being stupid. please help

I would give them another ring. It could be that you are in the early stages of labour. They might just be strong braxton hicks. But if you ring them they would be able to tell you.

Good luck if it is labour.

I would call them back too. It does sound like you may be in the early stages of labour but it may be very very early iyswim! Did you mention you think your waters may have broken to them? Don't feel silly about not being sure - I thought they had gone at 37 weeks with DC1 and they hadn't (increased fluid down there is normal in the last couple of weeks apparently) but then didn't realise when it was completely obvious with DC2 at 34 weeks Blush. They asked me to come in for an examination with DC1 so they could see for sure as if you don't go into labour within a few days they like to induce at our hospital. Good luck! Doesn't sound like a long wait now for your LO x

If you think your waters went on tues you need to get checked out due to risk of infection.
