Well pretty much as above, DP took a job where we are now in August on a temp contract but has now been offered a permanent position 100 miles away so we're going to have to re-locate (again). I'm obviously delighted he's got this job but does anyone have any advice on how to handle this so close to the birth??

Hopefully I'm not the only one that's having to do this

Thanks, xx

Do as much packing as you can now. Buy very little baby stuff if you haven't already.

Accept all offers of help/ask for help- this is one time people will realise you actually need it.

Book first night or two in a hotel/travel lodge.

Good luck!

I'm an expert mover! moved 5 times in 5 years. best advice i can give is have plenty of boxes and label each of them so when you unpack you know exactly where everything is. Start with any spare rooms empty them, next do any orniments or bits and bobs from bedroom and living room so you have just furniture and clothes left out, pack all clothes you don't wear a lot. Kitchen if it's just 2 of you leave out 2 plates 2 bowls 2 cups a pot and an oven tray or 2 pack the rest. Try and eat quick things frozen meals etc that don't need a lot of things to prepare. Same goes for bathroom just leave out shower jel shampoo and a few towels.

Good luck

Get the removal firm to pack for you! We moved recently and it wasn't as expensive as I feared, and worth every penny as the guys we had were great (Pretloves, if you're in East Anglia).
