Hiya all, it turns out my little baby boy is breech in the frank position i think, with his head in my ribs and bum in my pelvis. Was a bit of a shock to find out as they thought he had been engaged for a long time, unless he just got bored and flipped. I have a ecv booked tomorrow and just wondered how many people have experienced this and it has work for them at 39 weeks? I did see a video on you tube and she didnt even flinch, i dont quite believe that! Little worried and scared at the moment and have hours to go till tomorrow oh and i have to starve tmrw day incase it goes wrong and i have to have an emergancy c-section (hoping it wont come to that as the statisitics are very low for that) [hconfused] then if he doesnt turn i have a c-section booked for 14th november

I had a successful ecv last year at 37 weeks Smile. it was very uncomfortable and took about 25 minutes but it did work and I would have it done again. FWIW my obstetrician said she had never had one progress to EMCS in 15 years. Good luck with it tomorrow.

Oh sorry to hear that freeangel. If he's turned once theres always the chance he may swing back round...

freeangel · 28/10/2011 15:00

Thank you, we arent sure when he turned. We only found out last week he was the wrong way round, but seeing as though this is my first and 39 weeks i dont have much hope Smile

Ah well. I could send you over to spinningbabies but i'm sure you've already been there. Just remember the birth is just the beginning. Its the rest of his life thats more important.

if it's a frank breech, you can still have a vaginal birth, if you prefer.
obv you'll need to be under a consultant, and have lots of interference, but iot's the best breech to be for vaginal.

Thank you, i have been on spinning babies. I did opt out of a vaginal birth for the time being. I still have time to look into it if he doesnt move. Blush
