Dear ladies, please please tell me that breast soreness can vary day by day. My breasts started to be more and more sore in a past few days and today suddenly they are still a bit enlarged (like before period) but not sore or heavy like they were even yesterday.
I have a difficult and stressful time at work that requires my full attention but instead I can only sit and worry about my pregnancy. Anyone had this and still had a successful pregnancy?

Hi katherine, congratulations on your pregnancy Smile
I can only tell you of my experience........my boobs really hurt just before AF was due, it was infact the symptom that made me poas. However, the tenderness then totally vanished along with any change in size. I did get really sick from 6 weeks so was reassured by that. My breasts actually became tender again at around 12 weeks, am now 15 weeks and they have days off from tenderness!! Try not to worry though that is easier said than done. I will also add that I was not struck by any other symtoms until 6 weeks. Good luck

Thank you for your comment. I will try not to worry and concentrate on my work. It is so scary to loose job and pregnancy altogether....

I actually logged in my diary in the early days every single symptom (past history of miscarriage and wanted to either nail down if I had a reason to worry or stop myself flipping out). About the same time I've got a few days of "crap my boobs ain't sore anymore - scared!" written in... before they swelled up to atomic page3 but you ain't fucking touching them hubby cos they HUUUUUURRTTTT levels again and normal service was resumed.

Now (10 weeks tomorrow - fucking hell I'm getting dangerously near surviving the first trimester) they go through phases during the day when they're not sore at all and then phases (it's usually about early to mid-evening for me) when they hurt.

dreamc1 · 26/10/2011 11:24

Have to say my boobs were really sore to start with, now at 15+5 they have eased off quite a bit-still a little sore, although in the morning, they are sore when I get up. Saying that, I'm also leaking slightly on my left boob, tis crusted over in the morning.
I'm guessing its totally normal.

sharond101 · 26/10/2011 11:39

I have found myself panicking about severity, frequency, presence and absence of symptoms however every hour of every day is different and no doubt the pain will come and go as have everyone of my symptoms. I have had terrible morning sickness however on Monday was great. Managed to clean my house, walk the dog and eat normally. Yesterday and today I am terrible again and not even considering getting out of my pyjamas.

AlpinePony · 26/10/2011 12:14

I'm 24 weeks into my second pregnancy and my boobs have never hurt! Everyone's different.

Very sorry to hear of your work woes, I'm currently off with stress but doc says no actual damage will be done to baby.

smk84 · 26/10/2011 13:25

Yes I have found it to vary. With my first pregnancy I had it on and off and had a perfectly healthy baby boy. I am now 8 weeks with DC2 and I have definitely had days of little/no soreness and days where they are really sensitive. It's natural to worry, especially when you have a stressful job (I do too). It does get easier the further you get with your pregnancy. With my son, I was so anxious that we had an early scan at 6 weeks, then another at about 9 weeks. We had to pay for them both but it was money well spent !

KatherineCam · 26/10/2011 13:36

Thank you very much again for all your replies and very kind words. I am trying not to touch my breasts and concentrate on my work instead. This is very difficult when you are so early in your pregnancy and so far the only confirmation I had is the blood and urine test. I can not mention it to anyone at work yet and have to try my best to stay focused...

I have been wondering the same thing, yesterday my breasts weren't sore at all, and I started to worry. Today the pain, I mean tenderness is back.

KatherineCam · 27/10/2011 08:59

Morning everyone! After all of your reassuring replies yesterday I woke up today in a hope to feeling a little bit more pregnant. I thought may be my breasts should start to hurt a little just like before but no luck. The breast still a bit enlarged but don't hurt. I even peed on Clearblue digital but despite that I am 5 weeks today it shows 2-3 and not 3+. I googled it and it seems common not to get 3+ until nearer 6 weeks but still it did not calm me down. The work situation spiraling even further down while I am trying to stay calm. Any more words of reassurance?

holldoll · 27/10/2011 09:13

Oh I know how you feel, I am not feeling pregnant at all today, poas showed just a really faint line and much fainter than on the wk end. Feel upset and also have loads on at work too.
I hope it works out for you, I'm 4w5d and now really just waiting for my af I think

blushingmare · 27/10/2011 09:17

No other words of reassurance that haven't already been said - ie. pregnancy symptoms come and go and aren't necessarily an indication of the presence or absence of a healthy baby! I am in a similar situation - now 8 weeks and still barely any symptoms to speak of. I worry about it every day and am constantly googling and looking on different forums etc, which only really serves to provoke the anxiety and distract me from getting on with the rest of life. I don't think I will believe there is a healthy baby in there until it comes out! The only thing you can say, even though it's really hard, is that at the end of the day at this stage if you're going to miscarry there's nothing you can do about it. Be sensible, do all the things you're supposed to do in terms of eating etc, and assume that unless you have large amounts of bleeding, everything's fine. It's all you can do at this stage because worrying about what may or may not be going on will not help. Now, if only I could follow my own advice! Blush

KatherineCam · 27/10/2011 09:27

Thanks. I agree. I must calm down and proceed with my life, which is difficult and no one around knows it and understands our position.

blushingmare · 27/10/2011 10:13

Yes it's so much harder not having anyone else knowing isn't it. DH & I had agreed to keep it to ourselves until 12 weeks, but I'm actually thinking about telling my mum just so I have someone to talk to who's been there and done it and can reassure me. I never imagined I'd be this anxious about it and can recall getting mildly irritated with friends who were constantly stressing throughout pregnancy!

Franchini · 27/10/2011 10:14

mine stopped hurting after a while - I can't remember how many weeks though so I would guess that this is pretty norma; - they start getting v sesitive towards the end again.

holldoll · 27/10/2011 10:15

Af turned up. Good luck katherine

KatherineCam · 27/10/2011 10:18

I just found another blog were lady at 7 weeks was in the same position as me with all of her seemingly growing symptoms disappearing overnight. She was quite negative about outcome but went for an early scan to find she is pregnant with twins and could see their heartbeats. I hope everything will turn out fine with us as well.

blushingmare · 31/10/2011 16:26

Hi Katherine
Just thought I'd give you some further reassurance. I still have absolutely no pregnancy symptoms at 8wks+4 (even my tiredness and slightly sore boobs completely vanished last week). But this morning I went for an early scan (was booked by the midwife as I had a tiny bit of bleeding about 10 days ago - I wasn't too worried about it, but she said I should go for a scan) - anyway, there is a heartbeat and all looks normal so far Grin
So hopefully you will be the same as me and just lucky with the lack of symptoms!

Hotpotpie · 31/10/2011 21:59

I know loads of people have replied but just wanted to say that I had very obvious pregnancy symptoms just before I was due on, sore boobs, loads of trips to the loo, heightened sense of smell, copper taste in my mouth, the weeks after most had gone again, Ive never had sore boobs again (from about 10 weeks they were proper veiny things though) I dont feel like Ive ever met any of the pregnancy symptoms that people talk about - my nipples havent darkened or got bumpy, no morning sickness etc etc, just nasty cramps on and off and constipation, however im 16 weeks this week and Ive had a couple of very active scans, even after a bleed so dont worry, they sometimes come, and they often go for a bit and come back but I can honestly say even now I dont really feel pregnant, im just counting the weeks until I get that first kick then there is no denying it lol Grin

KatherineCam · 01/11/2011 16:09

Thank you. It is very calming to know that other people don't have symptoms or have them on off and still have normal pregnancies. I am 5 weeks 5 days today and some days don't feel pregnant at all. I still have to wait 2 weeks for my first scan that should put my mind at rest ( for a day or two:)).

Hi Katherine was wondering how you got in and if all was well? I'm having the same issue. Breasts are not as sore today and worried. Hope everything is fine for you x
TheDaydreamBelievers · 13/11/2020 08:06

@Bambi300180 - no idea how the original poster did but I'm 11weeks and symptoms come and go, including breast soreness. Also, some people (me included) just dont get many symptoms! I understand your anxiety - mine was super high early on and I was assessing every little thing but it has started to drop now I've had a scan!

Thanks for responding. So happy everything is going well for you. Love to hear the positives as it lessons the worry! Will just need to stop stressing and enjoy it x
