Hi all. Tried googling my query and just didn't know how to find the right words. For the last few weeks, after peeing, when I'm wiping, that whole area (my undercarriage??) seems much more.....prominent Hmm. Its the whole region, not just fanjo, but the bit inbetween that and my bottom.

Not swollen, as such, but just pushed out more. IYKWIM.

It;s not tender, doesn't really bother me, but I just get a bit freaked when I go to wipe and my hand gets there before it used to Grin.

Im 32 weeks, and baby is head down, so could that have something to do with it? It doesn't yet feel like im carrying a bowling ball down there, while sitting/walking etc, just when I need to touch the area. It is bizarre, and just wondered if it was normal?

I know exactly what you mean - and have the same thing - I am 35 weeks and have noticed it for a little while now. I had put it down to the pressure of everything bearing down and haven't had any discomfort as a result so thought it was most likely normal! I did start to frantically do pelvic floor exercises when I found a little bit of wee came out when I sneezed a couple of times and thought it might all be linked (sorry - this is TMI I know!) due to all the weight in there.. baby's head is down in my case as well!

I'm almost 37 weeks and I have this for definite. Its totally weird! Also I tried some perineum massage yesterday with some oil stuff from mother care and it's made my fanjo so bloody itchy!!!! Im scared I've got thrush or something now or have just aggravated my already swollen parts!!!

im 4 days away from due date and noticed this a couple of weeks ago, i'd forgotten all about the swollen fanjo [hblush] i had to ask dp if it was normal! its just the weight bearing down from the baby getting engaged or some such [hsmile]

Oh I'm so glad that other people have experienced this too. I've had it since about week 25 and am at week 28 now. Baby isn't head down all the time either.

I definitely didn't get it on the last pregnancy so am afraid I'm putting it down to being normal pregnancy weirdness. Could it be something else that I should be getting checked out. I did get a gynae check during week 26 and she reported that all was normal down there.

Phew, I am relieved. Had visions of being mocked or given lots of Hmm
faces. Glad people know what I mean.

Just yet another one of those weird occurrances, then!
