Ferratin and folate tests - can anyone tell me what they mean?

Hi I'm almost 32 weeks pregnant with DC2. I've been out all day and have just got back to find a letter among for me to give a repeat blood sample (MW done bloods at 30 weeks) for ferratin and folate. It says to phone antenatal for a fuller explanation but obviously they're now closed and my MW is off duty.

I'm worrying as in my first pregnancy I was asked to give a repeat sample, the hospital then diagnosed pre-eclampsia and kept me in, 3 days later I delivered at 35+5.

Can anyone reassure me and explain what it means they're actually testing for?

ferritin is to test for anaemia. (I know this because DS had it done recently)

Thanks, that's one less worry. I'm a carrier of thalassaemia so I'd expect my iron levels to be low anyway.
