Hi

i am 18 +2 and starting to feel like my sex drive is coming back.

the trouble is my husband is a bit funny about sleeping with me lol. i had a missed miscarriage with my first pregnancy and so far everything is brill with this baby. he does find me attractive but is finding it strange to get his head around the baby being there at the same time and is worried about doing something! i have explained its perfectly safe etc. but i am ending up severely frustrated!

anyone similar or got any tips?

oh god DH went through this both times, exactly at 16 weeks when I suddenly got my libido back. I grinned and beared it til he came round of his own accord last time...this time I pressured him into it and even got him doing kinky stuff by 20weeks (threatened to have my needs met elsewhere otherwise)

Glad I did, it's agony for my SPD to have sex now and I still have 5-6 weeks left to go Sad

Yes, no sex or what soever here, from around week 16 on I suppose (in week 32 now....). Well. I just accept it for now, as DP really has a hard time having sex with me while I have our baby in my belly. Nothing to do with not finding me attractive any more., but I can't force him. Difficult for me, because my sex drive didn't change at all. But I told him I will tie him to the bed for a week as soon as soon as everything healed after birth :o

thanks ladies its not fair of me to push him but its a pain in the bum! i cant remember a time previously he hasnt come near me!

blimey go to love honey by something sexy and have it on when he walks in the bedroom. that is not forcing just coercing. i am really feeling for you i would not be able to cope right now if i was not getting it poor man is getting jumped at every possible opportunity.

GirlWithTheMouseyHair · 25/10/2011 13:32

you don't need to push him - just remind him it might be a good 6 weeks (or longer) AFTER you give birth that you'll want sex, and then it will be once in a blue moon for the next few years....so if he stops doing it now, that's a hell of a lot of sex he's missing out on

I don't agree Girlwiththemouseyhair. Why would you have less love making when you have kids? Okay, it's busy, but you have to make time.... even when you're dead tired.

madmomma · 25/10/2011 21:38

I sympathise. I was crazily horny with DS1 (convinced it's male hormones in my blood) and DH wouldn't go near me cos he thought he'd hurt the baby (yawn). I ended up 'meeting my own needs' every afternoon, with a little help from ann summers, but it didn't half piss me off!

Crosshair · 25/10/2011 22:10

''Why would you have less love making when you have kids?''

My guess would be stiches or general tiredness.

GirlWithTheMouseyHair · 25/10/2011 23:14

hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

we went from several times a day to a handful of times a week....certainly 6months of getting up several times in the night took its toll and frankly it took a good year before my libido even partially recovered

FirstTimeMummyToBe · 26/10/2011 09:41

I am 36 weeks today and have had the same problem!

We have rarely had sex since i started showing it freaked the other half out knowing the baby was inside.

We slept together at the weekend and i had a bleed (nothing serious -trauma from the sex). Safe to say it freaked us out that much that we will not be attempting it again until after the baby is here!

fragglemummy1 · 26/10/2011 17:05

Its kind of the other way round for me. I am 16+4 weeks and DH is feeling a bit neglected (in a sweet way) because I'm just not really up for it. I did try this week but I actually find it quite uncomfortable. Is it just me? Do you think it will pass? We had a lot of sex before I was pregnant and I was hoping to maintain that throughout the pregnancy (and afterwards!) and the way I feel is starting to bother me.

Stef83 · 27/10/2011 12:41

My and my hubby did it once in the 1st Trimester and I bled and for the rest of it I was either too tired or sick. I think we've only done it a handful of times since and I'm 24+3 now but have had SPD since around 10 weeks. Although I'm not overly bothered and must admit a little scared this time............which I never thought I'd say, I'm worried that we'll just get used to not doing it.
When I was pregnant with my DS we had sex loads and I swear thats what made my labour only 5 hours (muscle strengthening hehe) and it took us 3 weeks after until i was okay...but as someone said above......since my son turned around 1/18 months we don't seem to do it as much anyway because we're so tired all the time!!
I'm just praying that my libido comes back!
