I'm 6wks pregnant and the past few days felt under the weather, my two dcs are 2 and 4 and have had a sickness bug today and yesterday.

This afternoon I suddenly felt VERY dizzy, bad headache and seeing spots, couldn't focus on anything and felt sick, have just ate a hearty portion of chilli and salad and its stopped instantly but left me feeling weak and very worried :(

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Low blood pressure maybe? I've had low BP a few years ago and I was tired, dizzy and generally felt awful. Have you been drinking plenty of fluids?

Enfyshedd · 22/10/2011 20:31

I wasn't pregnant at the time though.

TethHearseEnd · 22/10/2011 20:34

Oh GOD I am having exactly the same thing.

I got low blood pressure towards the end of my last pregnancy, so I'm wondering if it's that?

grubbalo · 22/10/2011 20:35

I agree low blood pressure the likely culprit. I have this anyway but worse in pregnancy and I know it can do weird things to vision. I did find keeping my blood sugar levels up really helped, and tried to avoid standing up too fast (and I realise you can't always stop that when you've got 2 other DC!!)

Enfyshedd · 22/10/2011 20:38

My friend who at the time was a med student (qualified as a doc the following year, so he must known what he was talking about) told me to make sure I was drinking plenty of water and to take it easy for a day or 2. 2 little DC's probably make for thirsty work, so I'd try to have a bottle for myself to hand as well as for them.

banana87 · 22/10/2011 20:53

Low blood sugar. I get this quite often.

JjandtheBeanlovesUnicorns · 22/10/2011 21:11

I've got a bottle of water on me now, will make sure I keep hydrated, glad I'm not alone that's reassuring :)

I had this. It's low blood sugars. You need to eat more regularly.

Northernlurker · 23/10/2011 00:42

LOw BP and blood sugar will both make you feel crap but tbh I would suspect it that's you are at 6 weeks when everythng really kicks in and you are probably running around after your dcs plus I saw your other thread - welcome as the pregnancy is, it's hardly been a stress free day or two has it? Take things easy, keep hydrated and wait for it to pass.

JjandtheBeanlovesUnicorns · 23/10/2011 09:43

I'm doing myself no favours as were away at the ils too, just woke up dp left me to rest off to eat now and hope for a better day!

Thank you for all your comments, ill pop to my gp when I get home too x
