Hi I went to the hospital on Wednesday with a strange pain and feeling a bit damp below (sorry for too much information) they gave me a speculum examination and said that there was some discharge around my cervix which could indicate an infection. Yesterday I noticed a fish odour and rang the Midwife who told me to come up again the Doctor did another speculum examination and thinks I may have Bacterial Vagimosis (BV). I am 20 weeks and 2 days and really scared as I have read that BV could be linked to pre term labour or miscarriage. They have started me on a course of antibitotics for the next 7 days and awaiting results from the swabs that was taken. I am panicking like mad has anyone been in the same position?

Hi twin, I've had a persistent uti plus bv for 8 weeks now (I'm 37 plus 6). I've had some horrible symptoms from the uti and am on my 4th lot of antibiotics but was told right from the start of my pregnancy that I wouldn't get to term (I also have a bicornuate uterus). If I can get this far with 3 indicators of pre term labour .... Do everything you can to get it under control and then reeeeeelax.... What is meant to be is meant to be and worrying will make you feel rubbish at a time when you should be enjoying the 'blooming'. Oh, and dr google is NOT your friend. Wink sending you lots of feeling good vibes ....

Rarely linked to those things. And probably when it hasn't been picked up. Don't worry, they'll keep an eye on you. I got through my pregnancy with BV - it was picked up on very very late on.
Ignore Google and ask your GP if you have any questions or worries or anything at all. Look after yourself.
