Help please - Sudden gush of red blood

Hi,
I am in the 13th week currently. On Friday I had my 12th week scan but as I came out of the scan, I realized that I had a sudden gush of red blood - and quite a lot of it. They sent me to the EPAU for a second scan and they said everything is fine and they cannot identify the reason of the scan.
The bleeding turned to mild spotting over the weekend and then disappeared.
Then come Wednesday I was on the phone with my Mom and once again had a sudden gush of bleeding - red and quite a lot. I went in to the EPAU and once again they said baby is absolutely fine and they cannot identify the source of the bleeding via the scan.
Am terrified - both at the suddenness of this bleeding and that its recurring.

Anybody faced this? Please help

Hi. I bled quite badly every few weeks with my 2nd and 3rd pregnancies. I had to have a scan every time but everything was fine. They didn't find a reason for it. It's really horrible though. Every time it happened I thought I was miscarrying. I think it happens quite a lot though.

Some women bleed throughout pregnancy, so don't think the worst.

Hopefully someone will be along in a moment with better info.

Thank you for responding. I did have brown spotting since six weeks that went away by wk 10. I thought that was scary till now - with these sudden gush of blood - it's terrifying. I am afraid of moving, because I am not sure when the next will be. The good news is from the three scans the baby is fine, the placenta is in a good, high place and they cannot identify any hemotomas with the scan. The bad news is that this is my second bleed in less than a week and it's unexplained.

No personal experience but I have heard of this happening quite a lot so I'm sure somebody will be along in a bit. Baby is obviously doing well so try to focus on that. Sometimes our bodies do strange but not necessarily dangerous things iyswim.

I had the gushing, it was earlier in pregnancy but sounds the same! At 1st i had a bit of spotting and went to the EPU they basically said there is nothing they can do and it was most likely due to some longword ..which i cant remember now lol! (as previously i had been having pains and had a scan as they thought ectopic but turned out to be a cyst, plus i had some internal bleeding) So this is basically what they thought was just coming out.
Well i got home and it hit, i was sitting on the toilet for over half an hour bleeding.. bright red and alot of it! I was terrified! After calling up they told me if a pad is full in halfhour come back in. Luckily it slowed down and eventually was just small amounts ... until the next day! After that it seemed to be every 6days i would bleed, and this happened for around a few weeks! They wasnt 100% what it was either but i have herd a few things eg. My body is just getting rid of what it didnt need and i cant remember some of the others. Im now 15 weeks and everything touch wood and fingers crossed seems to be ok! =)!

I had the same every 2 weeks from 23 weeks onwards. I know exactly what you mean by the gush - it would even wake me up from my sleep. The babies were absolutely fine though and they never did find a reason... super scary - our house ended up looking like a murder scene from having to run downstairs to the toilet in the middle of the night!
