I am full of cold and in the mood for a hot bath to cheer me up (not too hot, I know). I've got a lovely bath oil I've been given, which has vertivert, grapefruit and ylang ylang in. Do you know if I can use it? Or my other one was lavender and camomile? Oh, I'm in the 2nd trimester, if that makes a difference. Thanks

I've been given mixed information about lavender (told it was not pregnancy safe after I had used it for a cold - all was absolutely fine but avoided it since).

I was given this link from the maker of essential oils which says which ones should not be used at all in pregnancy, or avoided in early/complex pregnancy. I've been following this as I assume they are specialists (where a lot of pregnancy websites seem to quote from other websites, not any valid source).

HTH - hope the cold gets better!

Oh and by the way, I was also told that cosmetics in general are harmless as they use oils in such small amounts in 'carrier' substances like creams and non-essential oils. It's the high concentrates or pure essential oils that need a bit more care.

That's a great link - thanks, means I can keep enjoying baths after the cold goes Smile
