Hello, I'm new to this big adventure and was hoping to get some advice off you lovely people.
So, I'm four days late (usually VERY regular) and have had two negative tests (one on first day I was due, and one this morning). I worked out I ovulate on day 14 of my cycle - if implantation happens about ten days after that, does this mean it's too early for a test to show a positive?
The information available talks about time after conception that the tests show up pregnancy, but I'm sorry to say I don't exactly know what this means.. Does conception count as the point the egg and sperm make friends, or at implantation?
Also, Mumsnet really needs to put "No Freakin' Idea!" as an option on the registration page for the R U Pregnant question!

thanks all, I write this with all fingers crossed (tricky)
xx

The test should show positive at around the time your period is due, although some people get a feint line a few days before. Because everyone ovulates/conceives/implants at different times, they date pregnancies from the first day of your last period. Conception is when the sperm enters the egg, afaik.

Good luck! Smile

Thanks for the info - I think this must just be a freak long cycle. Two negative tests seems like I can't argue with the verdict. I wonder if anyone's done a study to see if we delay our cycles with pure mind-power because we're so desperate for AF not to turn up.. Ha! Certainly feels that way.. No PMT at all. Hope I find out either way soon.
