Tens machine - what did u think?

just wondered whether you ladies could help a first timer.

Did you have a tens machine?

Did it help?

Which one did you use or are they all pretty much the same?

My oh used one for back painand said it was rubbish but my sisters and friends and many others in labour liked it and it benefited them.

i thought it was a big pile of poo. i had it on for ages because i assumed it had to be doing something, my back was numb i was really irritable in the end i ripped it off and it was the biggest relief. i would not recommend it and didnt use it for my other two and wont be using it for this one.

I had one when I was in labour nearly 4 years ago with DS. I used it for the 2 days that I laboured at home and got to 4 cm with it. To start off with, I thought it was good, as it definitely distracted me from the pain fo the contractions. But as the time went on, I got bored of having the pain of the contractions and the sensation of the electric shocks. It felt that I was suffering doubly.

The only thing is that i couldn't put it on myself (i think they're all like this though).
