If it DID bring on labour, I wouldn't be 40 + 6 with an induction booked in for Monday! Shock

whackamole · 12/10/2011 20:18

Why wouldn't you want to bring on labour from 38 weeks anyway? Are you sure she wasn't a loony that had wondered into your appointment??!

steph01 · 12/10/2011 20:19

i've never heard of it before but i had to ask.

OP posts:

Never hear of that but at 28 weeks I wouldn't consider going into labour a bad thing.

Minus273 · 12/10/2011 20:22

I mean 38 Blush oops sorry.

Beesok · 12/10/2011 21:53

I heard this too! From a GP in A&E Confused was there for a check up and was rubbing my bump when she was filling in paperwork and she said you shouldn't do that! I was 24 wks at the time so I stopped - now am 39+3 so will start rubbing all night Grin

steph01 · 21/10/2011 22:43

It seems even health care professionals have some funny ideas about pregnancy. I'm with everyone else - how could that possibly work and if it did 38 weeks is the perfect time to start rubbing!!

Crikey...surely that's an old wive's tale...

I seem to spend most of my day stroking bump, its been pointed out to me at work many many (many many) times...
