Chicken pox in pregnancy

I'm 13 weeks pg - I've had chicken pox as a child but wondered what the risks were when coming into contact with someone who has it now?

I'm actually due to be working with a mother of a child who has spent time with another child with cp, and her mother has worked out that after incubation period she'll probably get the spots by monday/tuesday. Bit tenuous I know, but I've had 4 mc's and I'm not wanting to take any risks at all with this pregnancy.

If you've had chicken pox, you'll be fine.

in theory, you're immune if you've already had it.

they will test your blood for it, though, if you ask them.

Answer is: On balance of probabilities, I will be fine but there is no guarantee.

You can catch CP more than once. I could only catch it from the mother if she has caught it from her daughter, which, again, is a possibility, and it has a 2 week incubation period, so she may not yet know she has it.

Midwife thinks if we're both both in good health and are exercising good hygiene routines, then you should be ok, but there is no 100% guarantee in this situation.

Arse. Don't know whether to drop out of the shoot now (we're going to be working together in a small airless studio). It's such a small risk. But then so is catching listeria from eating brie and I still avoid that.

when is the shoot?
is it before Monday/Tuesday?
because once the spots appear, she won't be infectious.

Or, you could err on the side of caution and pull out. (you did say it was airless on there)
I don't know what I would do, I'm afraid.

It's Weds this week. It's probably a massive over-reaction but I'm thinking about dropping out. I have someone that could fill in for me.
