I had this. I could smell bleach from yards from a mile away. It still makes me ill now, (and my DC are 22 and 15) and can sometimes bring on a migraine or vomiting.
Didn't affect DC in any way, though.
I developed the same reaction to other stuff too, gloss paint, oven cleaner, turps etc.

I developed a deep love for the smell of Tesco bathroom cleaner around that stage. I once got up in the night for a sniff

Worryingly I've discovered a love of petrol smell after I got some on my hand the other day.... I know it's wrong but so right!
