Being pregnant with a very. energetic child

I'm not just hypothetically I am thinking sometime in the future , I have always been a bit scared , probably a bit hysterical tbh but I need my mind putting at rest

when i was preg the first i was totally paranoid walking around that someone would walk into me bump into something like got really scared.

I.e picking up, running around making sure they dont bounce on you

is it quite scary being pregnant with no.2

I am pg with no2 and have a very energetic 3 year old DS. He's big enough not to need carrying around all the time but when I do need to pick him up, I just make sure I bend my knees etc, the usual advice for picking things up. He quite likes to jump on me and roll on me but we are explaining that he has to be careful with Mummy's tummy - I am also conscious when I am lying down and he is jumping about that I am on my side. I am not finding any of it a problem TBH - babies are pretty well-cushioned in the womb - when I think of how hard my MW was poking and prodding the other day trying to find a heartbeat!

Well, I've got a little dynamo and I've just about survived my pg! I've coped pretty well with picking him up, running round after him etc. But, I've not been 100% throughout so I've relied on DH a lot to give me lie-ins, change nappies, and deal with him when he's having his tantrums.

I'm not sure if I would have cope without this massive support. But, I am a bit pathetic I admit! So many people manage this, you'll be fine!

DS was 3 last month, I am 37 wks pg with no2. DS is like a labrador in terms of bounciness and energy. It's been exhausting, but i have survived so far. DH works away a lot in the week, but has been fab at w/e and DS goes to nursery 3 days a week when I am at work. I loved those days at work! (office job). Just started mat leave - 3 days of bliss this week when DS is at nursery and I am at home. We have no family nearby, although MiL came to look after DS when I was very sick in first trimester.

I am pregnant with no. 2 and have a 16 month DD who wants to climb on me, be picked up and cuddled all the time. Not sure how its going to work when my bump starts showing and gets bigger but can't imagine it being too much of a major problem. The only problem I have encountered so far is that I am so much more tired in this pregnancy having to deal with DD who is constantly on the go. Last time round I could just relax and put my feet up when I felt sick - no such luxury this time round!

I have 3 boys 5,3 and a big 18m old and am 38 weeks with DS4. I work 4 days and walk there doing a school and separate nursery drop off on the way with buggy, scooters and until last week a laptop.

When not working I am breaking up fights and on my hands and knees wrestling nappies on or picking up mashed raisins off the floor.

I honestly think you will cope with one child and a second pregnancy

I had a 2.5yr old who I taught not to be carried everywhere during my pg2. I've had to run up a hill carrying a four year old to an a+e dept during this preg. My friend was carrying her 18month old while 6 month preg and tripped, squashing her toddler and banging her bump. Her baby is fine!
Babies are well padded. (obviously the falling over/banging bump is extreme and not recommended but just for comparison to general OVER hugging from a toddler) I'm 34 weeks and am running around like a mad thing at work and have two boys (Granted an 8yr old and 5 year old, but the 5yr old has crashed into me a few times!) I also regularly ran for buses in all three preg. You'll be fine.

I am 38 weeks tomorrow with my third. I have 2.8 year old twins.

They are both extremely active! I have coped with a very supportive OH and tbh they are good boys as well. I still pick them both up and it is fine. Not so comfy when they jump on me for a hug, but babies are very well padded.

Millions of people do it, you'll be fine.

thanks just a general worry he is very big for his age, average size of a 4 yr old but only 25 mths im not exaggerating (sp.) in 5'10 daddys 6'+ so hes got big genetics lol
I do have to wrestle him up for nappy change etc he does like his paddies It may be good as I will have to be firmer , frogmarch when he kicks off.

Buffalo-like 2.4 YO DS is not so much the problem, it was the tiredness I was unprepared for. Cbeebies has been my best pal

Another exhausted, 38 week pregnant, with a giant 2.6 yo. It's not the avoiding the kicks when changing nappies, or the elbows as he leans on my bump to sit up more, etc. it's the not being able to rest when you need to that's killing me. I've never worried about him damaging me, they just don't hurt you like that.

spose your all right, my mums is like think about women who have to deal with violence during pregnancies which I suppose is true. I was alwyas terrief of anyone or anything bumping to me its worse in the early days when theb padding isnt as strong.

I'm 13 weeks pregnant and DD is 2 years old. I haven't had a huge problem carrying her us such but I'm exhausted. I used to nap a lot during my 1st pregnancy and haven't really been able to do that this time. We'll cope I'm sure :)

I've just got through it. Due next week and have a dd1 who will be 2 next week. She is very energetic and active. It is not a walk in the park but you have less time to focus on your pregnancy and IMO it all goes much faster.
I rarely pick dd up now and she is an independant child though so I guess it depends a bit on their nature. Havent really worried about her hurting the bump though - its well protected and she generally doesnt lash out/kick or punch, if she did she would get told not to.

You wll become firmer with him, I think, you have to. DD has had her tantrums too and sometimes you just have to leave them to get on with it at the end as it's hard bending down ect. Having said that my dd is very light for her age and I can easily manage her, have a friend who has a dd the same age and she is really forceful and strong so am sure that would be harder.

Allboxedin- some healthy negelct lol people often say that lol my DC is the average size of a 4 year old
