measuring big for dates

This is purely for interest.

I've been at small risk of pre labour for this pg, but Ob now feels at 34 weeks, what will be will be, so has released me back into the community.

When I went for my MW appointment last week (at 33+4) I was measuring35 weeks. Not a major increase I know!! However my dh is away for two weeks when I'm 36 and 37 weeks pg.(I know this dosen't equate with above info but I've been late before so no one non medical believes I could poss give birth before 41 weeks!!)

Does size have any bearing on arrival of baby? My friend was measuring big and gave birth at 37 weeks!

Any stories or actually medical info most welcome!!!

I'm 33 weeks and measuring 37cms, my midwife (independent) doesn't seem in the slightest big concerned and hasn't mentioned that I may be early. I would be very glad if I was though (although obviously not prem) as I was 2 weeks late with DS and the waiting was miserable.

Ta! I'm really hoping for a few weeks off my 40 (or usual 41/42). Which is a really stupid place for the mind of a "at risk" of prem babe mum to be!!

The funny thing is that despite numerous hospital visits regarding my poss premature labour, including one that confirmed that I would prob make it to 30 weeks (suggesting I might not!) my DH only gulped (and looked concerned!)when I mentioned I'm measuring 11 days bigger!!!! Head in sand perhaps!!!!

I always measured big for dates last pg, by usually two weeks. I actually had DS at 41 weeks and he was a big baby, only 8lb12 but massive head and really long, on 98th centile
