Empty sac!!

Had an early scan today, as i have PCOS and have had a previous molar pregnancy.
My last period was 6 weeks ago, but all the nurse could see today was an empty sac.
She said it can me normal at this stage and has taken some blood to test the Hcg levels, and will let me know the results tomorow.
But im really scared that there could be something wrong.
Has or is anyone else in the same situation as me?

Yes, and sometimes at 6 weeks they just can't detect the baby within the sac. Unfortunately, I went on to have a mc after an empty sac was found, but it can depend on so many things; when you ovulate etc etc. If you have PCOS you are probably not ovulating according to the textbook time. I really hope it works our for you.

I had a scan last week at 5.6weeks - could only see a sac. Back there yesterday expecting the worst (I'd had a fair whack of red bleeding) - although it's hazy and not 100% because I've got a wonky uterus (it tips apparently) and I'm somewhat well-padded... and she was confident enough to say she was fairly sure she could see the heartbeat, foetus and yolk sac - although it all still looked like a badly tuned telly to me.

I have had the other ending in the past where it was a missed miscarriage - so it can go both ways, indeeed we went in yesterday more than ready for it to be the same again.

If you've got wonky innards and an uncooperative bugger holed up in an arkward spot it CAN be too early to tell.

What are your cycles like? If you have a 28 day cycle then it is likely that you are 6 weeks pregnant. However, if you have a 35 day cycle then you would only be about 5 weeks pregnant as you would have ovulated on day 21 versus day 14. 6 weeks means 4 weeks after ovulation (but assumes a 28 day cycle with ovulation on day 14) so if you ovulate late like some people with PCOS do then your dates will be wrong if you use your last period date.

Hiya I also have PCOS and had an early scan at 5 1/2 weeks where I had an empty sack - I had no bleeding but horrendous cramps so had another scan at 7 weeks where there was a baby - well more a kidney bean than baby with nice strong heartbeat :) I'm now 11 1/2 weeks and as far as I'm aware everything is as it should be :) fingers and toes crossed for you, don't get to stressed about an empty so early - it doesn't always have to be bad news

I had a scan on Monday at 6weeks stage and there were two sacs. One with growth and a heartbeat the other looked empty. The lady who did the scan said they expect both sacs to develop at the same rate. Anyone experience?
