BFP but some bleeding... help!

Hi ladies,

WARNING TMI AHEAD!!

Have been having some brown discharge for the last week. Got a faint BFP on Monday, another yesterday and then just got a 'pregnant' on a digital test. Today the brown discharge has had some deep, dark red too. Is this normal?

Entirely normal - brown blood is old blood - don't worry :)

Hi, I'm in a simlar situation, 6 weeks today and been lightly bleeding since Sunday. Had no pain and have spoken to EPU who were lovely and said it is normal. She told me 40% of women bleed. They have booked me in for a scan Friday just to check. I would call your EPU to get some advise if you are worried. Hope that helps and all goes well. L x

In this pregnancy I had brown discharge for three weeks solid, from weeks 5-8 and all seems to be okay at 16 weeks now. But in a previous pg I had brown discharge and all wasn't well, so it isn't always cut and dried. So if it carries on I would talk to your EPU and see if they will arrange an early scan for when you are far enough (6+ weeks ish). Chances are all will be fine though, as whomoved says

Not "normal" but not unusual either.

You need to see your GP who will refer you for a scan at 6 weeks (they tend not to do them earlier). Until then I'm afraid it's just a waiting game to see if that blood gets worse or goes away.

Ive been bleeding horrid brown sludge for a fortnight, when it first starts (its stopped and started a few times) its had a fair bit of red in it - My GP had a look down below and I have an abrasion on my cervix so thats where its from, I also had a scan when it first started and baby was fine - got my 12 week scan Friday and im scared but trying to stay calm being as I know its my cervix really (head and heart not playing nicely at the moment lol) fingers crossed yours is something similar
