First day of last AF was 8/11.

Baby centre says I'm 6 weeks, 7 tomorrow. Another site says I'm 5, 6 tomorrow???

Lots of others like this, some 6 some 5.

Any ideas?

I think it's 5weeks 6 days.

DoesntChristmasDragOn · 19/12/2005 17:37

ie 6 weeks tomorrow

foundintransleightion · 19/12/2005 17:39

BBC says (assuming a 28 day cycle) you are towards the end of week 6, due on 15 Aug. They were right with me (confirmed by scans).
Congratulations!

NewBethlehemGirlwithsparkles · 19/12/2005 17:42

This is the confusing part. All say I'm due on the 15th August but they all differ in weeks.

It would be nice to think I'm 7 weeks tomorrow.

Having counted the weeks it seems you're 6 weeks tomorrow.
BBC clearly means week 6 as you being 6 weeks when you've completed it iyswim.

NewBethlehemGirlwithsparkles · 19/12/2005 17:46

Ah well, 6 weeks it is then.

Still don't get the baby centre though.

Babycentre means you are in week 7 - which you are but you're 6 weeks pregnant having just finished Week 6. Does tht make sense?

NewBethlehemGirlwithsparkles · 19/12/2005 17:50

Ermmmm no

OP posts:
NewBethlehemGirlwithsparkles · 19/12/2005 17:52

but in Nbg stupid terms I am 7 weeks tomorrow?

DoesntChristmasDragOn · 19/12/2005 17:52

6 weeks of your pregnancy have passed so you are starting week 7 - at the end of the week you will be 7 weeks pregnant and starting week 8.

DoesntChristmasDragOn · 19/12/2005 17:53

No - only 6 weeks have passed.

When you are 6 weeks 1 day you will be one day into week 7. At the end of that week, you will be 7 weeks pregnant.

NewBethlehemGirlwithsparkles · 19/12/2005 17:54

So if the first day of my last af was a tuesday, do I work on Tuesday as being the start of the week IYSWIM, tomorrow being the start of week 7.

DoesntChristmasDragOn · 19/12/2005 17:55

Yes

DoesntChristmasDragOn · 19/12/2005 17:57

It's like when your baby is born, they are starting out on their first year of life yes?

However, they are only 1 year old at the end of the year.

It's the same with pregnancy weeks - Babycentre is effectively saying "your baby is 1 year because they are in the first year of their life". Except for pregnancy weeks.

NewBethlehemGirlwithsparkles · 19/12/2005 17:57

Finally, lol

Thank you.

hehehe

It all seemed so clear until I tried to explain it!!

NewBethlehemGirlwithsparkles · 19/12/2005 18:10

I've still had to re-read what you posted, lol.

I's sinking in a bit now.

What I was bothered about was seeing the midwife. She said she won't see me until I am 8 weeks an have my appt booked for the 4th Jan but she was going on my calculations. I was going to call her and get an earlier appt thinking I'd got it wrong but don't think I'll bother now.

Awww thats brilliant. Not much boozing going on for you this Xmas - worth not boozing though.

Bet DD is excited.

NewBethlehemGirlwithsparkles · 20/12/2005 17:23

She hasn't really grasped the whole, mummys having a baby yet

Although we have told her and asked if she wants a baby. The answer is always no though so I don't know whether thats a sign of things to come!

The belly has had a few kisses though

How are you anyway?

Oh I am fine, going on my works do at the Hilton on Friday and then to a few bars in Leeds so looking forward to that.

Kids are so excited and so am getting excited too now. They've got so much though we have just had to clear a whole tox box and take to the charity shop or else the house would be overtaken by toys!

How's your friend, forgotten her Mumsnet name now. Was it Cuffy?
