hi there! Trying to establish whether or not to help things along by supplementation of the aforementioned supplements. It would be really helpful if you lovely ladies could offer some tried and tested advice. Thanks

I did start taking it, and I guess it worked, 12 + 3 today. Was willing to try anything as we were trying for a while.
I took:
Agnus Castus 1000mg per day
Dong Quai 500mg per day
Vit C 1000mg per day
Flaxseed oil 500mg per day
Vit B Complex
EPO 3000mg per day
Veggie vit supplement
Iron

Congratulations dream! Thanks for that. Did you take them throughout your cycle? How long did you take them for? :)

Was trying a long time for DC1. A friend suggested buck wheat. Went out, bought some, sprinkled it over my cereal every morning, and 2 weeks later got my BFP. Coincidence?-Who knows, but worth a try. Grin Good luck!

Iwilldothis - I will try anything including THAT! thanks. Will let you know :)

WishingIwasLucky; I took them all through the cycle; never stopped, but the top 4 for I took for 4 months or so before concieving. The others I have taken for a few years.
I have never ever had a regular cycle, did sometimes know when I ovulated but most of the time I didn't have a clue, so I guess I got lucky. Even when I took the test, I didn't know when I was due af.
Hope this helps. x

Dream: wishing you a very happy and healthy pregnancy. I will take top two until ovulation. The rest I will take all month purely because I do have regular periods of sorts! Will keep you updated! Keep those fingers crossed please! :)

My first cycle off the pill was 69 days, anovulatory, i started taking Agnus Castus towards the middle of that cycle. The very next cycle, I ovulated 21 days in, and got a BFP 2 weeks ago.
Can't of course tell you it was definitely the AC, maybe a coincidence of course.
I have 2 unused boxes of the stuff (from Boots) if you want me to send it to you.

WishingIWasLucky · 03/10/2011 17:03

Trilottie- that is very kind. I will pm you! Congratulations on your pregnancy, may it be a happy and healthy one! Is that the only thing you did differently then? How much did you take ?

Thankyou! Fingers crossed, I'm not counting my chickens yet :)
We are/were both also taking the pregnacare his and her conception tablets, so i took that and one AC tablet after dinner, as it says on the pregnacare to take on a full stomach.
Bear in mind if you look for AC in Boots you have to go to a fairly big one and its labelled for PMS relief, nothing to do with regulating your cycle etc.

I took B6 to extend my luteal phase which had dropped to 6-7 days. It was up to about 12 days then I stopped and went back to general pg vits. Took 6 months ttc this time.

idlevice · 04/10/2011 06:07

Agnus Castus balances out your cycle so can take up to 6mths to work, depending on your individual hormonal profile. And it should be stopped as soon as pregnancy is confirmed. For the best advice see a naturopath-type practioner who can recommend an individualised supplement regime based on your history or even take a hormonal profile measurement & prescribe correspondingly. Also make sure your diet isn't high in foods that could disrupt your hormones - large amounts of red meat, eggs, soy, etc

Congratulations herethereandeverywhere. Thanks for the info. Will add b6 too!
Idlevice: will also see a practitioner/ herbalist. It seems sensible enough. Am already very health conscious...but will keep an eye on things.
Thankyou for your support and advice ladies. Ttc is such a lonely experience in RL. MN certainly makes the journey smoother Thanks

I'm currently trying agnus castus as I've heard that it helps regulate irregular cycles by helping stimulate the LH hormone. Been ttc for over 10 months now and had a chemical pregnancy over 6 weeks ago - has anyone had any success using agnus castus or am I wasting my time.
