Period Like Pains After Sex 11 Weeks Pregnant

Hi, my name is Emily and I am 11 weeks pregnant, I have been getting period pains or cramping every time me and my partner try to have sex is this normal? I just want to know because it is worrying me and this is my first pregnancy ever and I am so scared.

Good plan to ring them. I'm also eleven weeks and I've had the same - my cousin's a GP so I was obviously straight on the phone to her. She said as long as there was no discharge and it lasted just a short while it's fine. But I'd def ring just to reassure yourself as much as anything...

Normal. Apparently I was told that after sex it is normal for your uterus to contract (a bit like having an orgasm) - also normal every 20 minutes in pregnancy although most of the time, you can't feel them. I'm 27 weeks pregnant, have regular sex and have them most of the time afterwards. As long as you have no bleeding, it's fine.

But to put your mind at rest, check it out with your GP.MW/hospital.

Actually it was the cramps after orgasm that made me suspicious I was pregnant, as I have the same reaction to contraceptive pills containing oestrogen.
