Af late today so tested and got +
totally stunned, had been trying for 2.5 yrs for no 3, had all but given up and were using condoms again after setting wedding for next November. We are totally flummoxed
Due to a breast lump I had to have a mammogram last Tuesday, they asked if I was prgnant I said no.
Also al this week have had hideous flu so have been using sudafed which says do not take in pregnancy
I dare not google this
Will obv see doctor next week but cannot wit unti then to ask about it.
Anyone know anything about this?

sorry no but why not ring nhs direct if you are concerned sorry this is not much.

I am pregnant and have been taking sudafed when I had a bad sinus problem. I looked it up on Netdoctor and it appears to be safe. I am not concerned about this.

Congratulations!

have been googling, it seems to be ok to have a mammogram during PG as apparently such low levels of radiation are involved.

imaginis.com/breasthealth/lump.asp.

wouldn't have thought the sudafed would have been too risky - just think of all the things that people not expecting to be PG do before they find out about PG - I was eating all the wrong stuff, drinking, doing weights at the gym, taking antihistamines and ADs....

best of luck

OOooh congratulations

Will you be joining us on the Due August 06 board?

to add to the litany of stuff I did, I had a dental X-ray as well just before I found it!!!

DinosaurInAManger · 17/12/2005 16:52

Congrats!

Glitterygook · 17/12/2005 16:53

My friend took loads of sudafed while pg too - she had no idea she couldn't and got a telling off from GP but baby was perfectly fine.

Re mammogram, I don't think I'd worry, they weren't x-raying your abdomen at all - aren't they directed straight onto the breast?

Honestly, I don't think you need to worry. Apparently you aren't supposed to use hot jacuzzi's when pg either but I spent a 10 day holiday going into one every single day and I didn't know I was pg - no harm done!

hoXMASchick · 17/12/2005 16:58

congratulations piffle

LIZS · 17/12/2005 17:04

Congratulations !!

Googled Sudafed - Pregnancy isn't a specifically listed condition under either to avoid or to take with caution but it has the usual pg and b'feeding caveat to consult doctor first as there is no safety information so does not recommend its use. I was advised to take it whilst b'feeding ds though. If you are worried can you speak to a pharmacist in the meantime who could consult their directory of medicines.
