I love the name Angelina, but am getting negative comments because of Angelina Ballerina (dreadfully feeble character I know!) and Ms Jolie. Surely they won't still be famous in 10 years?! I love that you can shorten it to Angie or Angel, and it goes well with out short surname. It's very popular in the US but less so here.
What do you think?

My dd has a friend in Reception called Angelina, other children are always poking fun at her because of Angelina Ballerina. It's only teasing but it really upsets her.

It is a pretty name, but sorry, I wouldn't do it.
How about a variant, such as Angela or Angelique?

WigWamBam · 14/12/2005 16:30

Or Angelica?

LilacBump · 14/12/2005 16:31

i like angela, it's one of my middle names and my gran's name.

Tatties · 14/12/2005 16:36

I love Angelica, and so does my dh. And Angelica Huston is a great role model!

Evangeline? A girl at work has that name and I think it is so pretty, she shortens it to Eve.

Evangeline has also been on our list. Inspired by Evangeline Lilly from Lost!
