Growth stopped: 37 weeks

I am 37 weeks and everything had been progressing normally with weight etc until 2 weeks ago.
At 37 weeks his femur length and something else (maybe stomach) are only 34 weeks. His head is 39 weeks though. He is in 10th percentile for weight (was 50th before).

I have had a Doppler scan and tests looking at blood flow to brain/ reaction to noise etc and everything is normal.

Has anyone else had this?

Have you had other problems in this pregnancy? I'm not sure anyone would know if their baby's femur had stopped growing unless they had a scan and it isn't usual for this to be done at this stage of a pregnancy in the UK.

I haven't had any problems at all with the pregnancy. (well low lying placenta, but this moved).

I only mentioned the femur length as I think this is one of the measurements they use on the ultrasound to calculate the weight. I don't know if it's significant that the head / body are at different weeks.

I don't live in the UK, so maybe scans are different in other countries.

Meant to say, we are scanned every 15 days from 32-37 weeks and then weekly from then on. I didn't realise this wasn't normal.

I don't want to tell you it's ok if it's not - only the medical professionals can tell you that, but this is my experience. I had a low-lying placenta at my 20 wk scan, so ended up having a scan at 35 weeks. They checked baby's measurements and his stomach was proportionally huge. They scanned me again twice, and predicted a 10lb+ baby, and I had to have tests for gestational diabetes etc (which I didn't have). My little boy was born at 40+10 weighing.... 8lbs 4oz! So the medical people were wrong, and he was a normal sized and very healthy baby (he's now a very healthy 5 1/2 yo).

Wow that's lots of scans - we don't get that many in the UK! Just 12 weeks and 20 weeks in my area unless there are problems.

I hope you can get some better answers very soon, but I just wanted to say I had a bunch of scans between 30 and 36 weeks and the one at 34 weeks allegedly showed a baby shorter and lighter than the one scanned at 33 weeks. We were very at this - and didn't have much faith in that particular sonographer! We were told at 30 weeks that it was going to be a whopper baby, born early at 36+5 and only 2.6kg. Hardly massive.

Bert2be - I'm in the UK. if you have a potential problem at your 20 week scan such as a low-lying placenta, you get scanned again at 34 weeks to make sure it's moved and isn't blocking baby's way out. It's only if they then decide baby's too big/small that they scan you again.
