VERY vivid dreams - early pregnancy?

Just wondering many of you had vivid dreams in early pregnancy? Every night for the the last two weeks, I have had vivid, scary, violent, and very realistic dreams....pregnancy seems to be a recurring theme in them. I'm scared to go to sleep at the mo! Blush

Just had a quick googlage, and early pregnancy seems to be a popular answer for this. I'm on the pill, and havent done a test or anything, I just wondered how common this potential early sign is??

So, did you have these? Or is it one of those ever-so-(un)helpful myths? Wondering if a little trip to boots may be in order Hmm x

With DD and this one I've had very vivid dreams. Last night I was an air hostess on a plane to Dallas Airport. Some of my friends were on the plane and didn't know I was an air hostess. Then when we landed I was desperate to take a picture of Dallas Airport's sign because it was actually called Dallas John Lennon Airport and I wanted to show DH (Scouser) the photo Hmm

Grin Hahaa Flisspaps yours sound funny! Can we swap??? Mine are ghastly!

Hmmm. So they were/are noticeably more mental whilst you are pg? I've never had them this vivid and so consistently... Confused

Mine are horrendous at the moment (7+6) and have been very vivid for the last few weeks. Slept terribly last night, and woke up at 7:30 from an awful dream where we'd (me, DH, DD & a new baby) all been caught on some little island (I think inspired by the current Aussie Masterchef series) during some apocolyptic event. We made it to a lifeboat, only to be informed by the person sat next to us that we weren't saved, but highly radioactive and therefore going to die.

I'm really looking forward to this little stage of pregnancy ending.

Ive had some really nice ones and some absolutely horrific ones - last nights was my mate getting evicted and the bailif punching me in the stomach, another trying to breast feed my baby and my step daughter biting my breast because she was jealous lol, I have had some nice ones too honestly, beautiful ones about babies and gorgeous film star hubbies spring to mind Wink they dont seem to be getting any less frequent either and im nine weeks now

LilyLunaPotter · 17/09/2011 10:45

Argh, cosmic , sounds horrible :(. Hope they stop soon!

Thats the sort of thing I've been having - beaten up/stabbed by gangs, spat on and strangled by DP in a very violent row (very calm and lovely in real life!), etc etc. Really realistic, I actually keep waking up in tears.

Looks like it is a genuine early pg sign then hey. Im on the pill though! Confuzzled!

Just Pee On A Stick!! Yes people often say they have vivid dreams when pregnant but you could be having them for a number of other reasons. Go to Boots and buy a test :)

LilyLunaPotter · 17/09/2011 10:50

Mighty How i wish I had the odd film star hubby dream to make up for the current sh*tty ones!

Off to purchase a test this afternoon me thinks. Im on my pill-free week at the mo, and no sign of AF yet. This has happened before though, and the day I do a test, AF always turns up afterwards! Pfft.

Will do Kat Grin
Just didnt want to go and get one off the back of Dr. Google's advice (you know what he is like!). Thought i had better see if it is a genuine & common sign...looks like it is!! Confused

if it helps lily that was my first very early and proper sign- good luck!!

LilyLunaPotter · 17/09/2011 11:04

Ahh mighty, thank you. I'm half really scared and half really excited! Not TTC at all, so it will be a bit of a shock if I am. But a lovely shock.
I will get a test later and report back :)

Fingers crossed for you lily

I had nightmares early on. I've always been a vivid and sometimes lucid dreamer. Mainly to do with bad things happening to baby, but by then I knew I was pg - we were TTC and I just randomly took a test as was yet again, 'overdue' so, post 30-days. But was expecting a BFN as they always were...but this time BFP!

...but...from about 14wks the nightmares turned into sex dreams...
...had one about having sex with one of my line managers, only he was wearing iceskates and was in a very loverly blue dress...
...and one about at 19y/o at work (on a kitchen table), - very very wrong, 11 year age gap...
...and one with DH, who post-sex wasn't DH, and his hand fell off leaving blood on my rug and coffee table, that I cleaned up with dettox mould and mildew remover...
...and one about Jensen Button, where I'm not totally sure I did as don't remeber the deed, but if had the general feeling of the others...

So, that's something to look forward to?!

WiiUnfit · 17/09/2011 12:13

Ooh how exciting Lily! I had verrrrry vivid dreams with DS, ranging from people stabbing me in the bump :( to sex dreams where at the start it was DP then it would change to someone random & I would wake up thinking I'd cheated on him! I hadn't of course, it was just strange!

I too wish I'd had Flisspaps' air hostress dream, sounds dandy!

Welcome to all the new ladies Xmas Smile

Glad it's not just me with the cramping... Find myself having to lie down and stretch out most evenings.

Not too many other symptoms yet other than I had my first weird pregnancy dream last night. DH laughed when I told him about it this morning, it was so far fetched! Grin I'd forgotten about those from last time.

MochaChocaChino · 01/12/2016 21:56

Ooops wrong thread Blush

Capricorn8990 · 16/11/2021 16:46
