Baby lying op - advice please!

I'm 38 weeks plus and today the midwife told me the baby was lying op, or back to back. She told me not to worry but of course I am as I've heard it makes labour much longer and more painful. Does anyone have any experience of this? Am I worrying over something I can do nothing about? Does it make that much of a difference? I can feel feet kicking me on my right which makes me think baby is lying more with her back to my left hand side, if that makes sense. Thoughts please thank you!

I was lying OP when my mum had me, she said it wasn't a problem. My baby is lying that way too and my MW is totally chilled about it, just says we'll work on rotating it during labour by being on all fours etc.

I spent an awful lot of time on all fours trying to spin DD2, but felt her spin back round once I was up and about on my feet again. She was an awkward little so-and-so and I assumed that she would twist during labour. I bounced, paced and did what I could bar crawling round the delivery room and the little bugger was still born face up!

As far as the labour went, the contractions were a bit stop-start, and didn't follow the oh-ooh-aaah-ooh-oh peaking pain of DD1. And, although I did find it slightly more painful, I had the same pain relief with both (G&A), so it can't have been that bad. And DD2 took slightly longer to arrive, 14ish hours, rather than 12ish for DD1. Pushing stage was quick: 20mins, compared with 1h20ish with DD1. However, I dud tear quite badly (nearly stitched in theatre), but compared to the episiotomy I had with DD1, healing was a walk in the park.

DD was OP, she turned in labour, one thing to look out for is contractions as back pain (a bit easier to miss) I had 2 1/2 hrs active labour so op wasn't bad at all for me. I only had G&A could have used more but this was becasue my labour was so fast and furious not because she was OP.

I was concerned as I just couldn't get her to move round and I did all sorts to make her move, I now wish I hadn't worried. It was fine. And her feet were to one side at the front like yourself. Good luck :)

my ds1 was op. my labour was longish. He's a very lovely 8 yr old now. It was a few extra hours of my life and he's worth it(no way of knowing if labour would have been shorter if he wasn't op TBH!) I hear a lot of baby's turn in labour. You're prob better off just chilling about it cos being tense would prob add time to labour too. Good luck.
