Hi there, which type of folic acid would you recommend is best?

I wasn't aware there was more than one type! Folic acid is just a B vitamin.

What you buy depends on your willingness to spend money.
You can buy plain folic acid over the counter at the pharmacy for very little. 3 months worth for about £3 or something like that.

Or you can buy expensive pregnancy supplements for about £10 a month. They have a range of other vitamins in them too of course but if you are eating a healthy diet anyway you may not need the extras.

I take the middle ground and use Boots own brand supplements.

Thanks for the reply. Ah, i think my message is wrongly posted, i meant, which brand is good, like the pregnacare, sanatogen or boots one will do?

I use Sainsbury's folic acid. They're all the same really, unless you go all out for something like PregnaCare + omega oils. I used that last time, and it might be worth it if you have bad morning sickness, it has extra vits.
