when can u shaive after c/section????????????????

i had a c/section month a go, i want to shaive next to scar place but i am worried, anyone knows if its ok, had anyone experience this problem???????

and also i am still bleeding but not heavier, when does the bleeding stop????

I have had 2 c sections, not sure about your shaving question but as for the bleeding mine stopped after about 10 days iirc, it definitely didn't last a month x

OP - yes, do go and get check out by the doc but you should be okay to shave once the scar has healed up. Ask the doc while you're there.

My understanding is that bleeding is the same post c-sec as for a normal vaginal delivery so a month later is perfectly normal (6 weeks is the average for post-partum bleeding). However you deliver your baby, you still have the same sized wound internally from the placenta. Don't know about the shaving though, I suppose the main issue would be ingrowing hairs causing an infection at the wound site or irritating the scar.

Bibbity does have a point though, however uncalled for others may find it. Excessive punctuation can detract from a perfectly good point or question, and in a thread title can put people off even opening it :)

firstsupermum you could try using some hair removal cream, the last thing you need right now is an infection or ingrown hairs.

Why not wait until you have had your 6 week check, ask your doc and go from there?

i dont have any appointment made for my 6weeks check scarlettlips it will be on the 8th, that means thursday, but i dont think they will send me any appointment for it, do i have to book it myself with my GB, as this is my 2nd baby, in my first, they didnt do 6 weeks check for me is well, i think every area do it different.

firstsupermum In my area we have to book our own 6 week checks. Mention that's what it is for when you call the Doctors, as at my surgery there is only one GP who carries out the check on the baby. He spent about a minute looking over DD, and then asked me 'And are you OK?'

Never mind all those question marks, I'm more concerned about why you are wanting to shave at this point in time.

i think there are a lotof things that the personne need to know and be sure about before doing it after c/section, for me thats one of them, when it ok for someone to shave, i had my first c/section but i forgot about all that, why persone want to do it? as part of hygiene for me. so i have to make sure when its safe.

Bleeding 3/4 weeks post-partum is very normal.

The last thing I would do post-section is put hair-removal cream anywhere near the scar! I can't imagine it would be good for it. Careful shaving, perhaps, but definitely not Veet.

I think at your stage post-partum, your personal hygiene will be taken care of by daily bathing or showering.

You do realise pubic hair is actually there for hygienic purposes, OP? If that's the only reason you're worried about shaving, stop worrying and enjoy your baby! You really don't need to shave to be clean, showers and baths will be fine.

You can see your scar enough to know it needs shaving after only a month? Wow !
