Tbh I think I'm just a bit bloated atm but I've been having a look at some materniy wear and debating whether to buy anything.

When did you all start to show and how far were you when you couldn't do up your trousers?

when i was 14 weeks with dd2 i had to wear some massive black maternity pants, have the fly undone and secure it with a hair bobble looped round the buttonhole and button on my smart work trousers!

NewBethlehemGirlwithsparkles · 09/12/2005 15:45

Really?!

Thanks

Congrats NBG! I'm now 16 weeks and down to a single pair of jeans - which to be honest are only comfortable when standing up and this week, all my work trousers have started to feel very snug and I can't wait to get them off and get into come 'trackies' when I get home. Off to buy a new pair of jeans and a couple of pairs on cheap work trousers tomorrow morning - M&S probably but not maternity - will probably go for the next size up.

Had lots of bloating early on and still do now - but my bump has only started to appear this past week.

NewBethlehemGirlwithsparkles · 09/12/2005 15:49

Congratulations to you to HA

When I was pg with dd I didn't buy anything maternity apart from some black trousers which I grew out of and tbh I looked a real tramp. So I have decided this time I will try a bit harder.

btw, i can highly recommend the roll-over maternity trews from next bottom left of this picture . when i was 1st pg i folded them down to resemble a skirt over trousers type thing and then as i got more huge, just rolled the extra up to cover bump. REALLY comfy! bought 2 pairs and i lived and died in them (also good for first few weeks after the birth!)

cupcakesbakingonanopenfire · 09/12/2005 15:55

congratulations, NBG!
I started showing much earlier - it was almost as if as soon as I knew my stomach muscles relaxed and it just popped out.

HandbagAddiction · 09/12/2005 16:06

Yep - definitely earlier with the 2nd. Can remember still fitting into most of my normal clothes until about 20 weeks last time around.

NewBethlehemGirlwithsparkles · 09/12/2005 16:24

Really like them trousers Moomin. Although I did find Next things to be quite big when I had dd, hence I didn't buy any of their stuff.

I can get away with casual stuff anyway as I won't be working.

NewBethlehemGirlwithsparkles · 09/12/2005 16:27

Will check them out.

I think I'll have to book a shopping trip soon.

Having said that, its going to be horrendous isn't it for shopping. Xmas and Jan sales.

nailpolish · 09/12/2005 16:28

NewBethlehemGirlwithsparkles · 09/12/2005 16:29

Yeah was going to do on-line but....

I don't do Next because of the whole setting up an account thing and H&M don't do on-line. Why?!!!

Theres a few bits on Vertbaudet I've seen. A gorgeous jacket, jeans but I would like to try them on first and some tops.

Anyone like this?

I thought I could probably wear it after pregnancy too.
