Recommendations please. Don't want to spend out on something that's not going to do the job.

My back and hips are killing me!

funny enough just brought one from mothercare called nexcare products maternity support brace. it's £35 but put it on and bliss. i did have physio for spd but good old nhs she was off for 6 weeks over summer and I'm due in 4 weeks so took matters into my own hands! how many weeks are you, a physio referral might help.

I am 21 weeks. Saw my midwife yesterday she just suggested a belt but no mention of physio. Did you find it helped? (when you could actually get an appointment!)

There's an spd thread on here somewhere and all the ladies on there recommend the Serola belt. Mine was delivered today, and I have to say the relief is instant. It's a two layer belt and is far superior to the one I had in my last preg. It was £40.00 but I think it's going to be worth it! I'm only 24 weeks so hoping this will keep me going.

Def get a physio referral, ask the mw, or see a chiro privately.

A physio referral is worthwhile, although they might not do any physical manipulation.
I have SPD and a history of back problems. I got a referral and they gave me some exercises to help. But they said they wouldn't touch me until after I'd had the baby. (8 weeks to go.) I had been doing the exercises I do anyway for my back, but they were getting more and more difficult as my belly expanded :o
They also gave me a belt so I didn't have to buy one.

I only had to wait about 2 weeks for my appointment.

Thanks dribbleface I invested in a nexcare belt and have been wearing it today and it has made a real difference to my lower back pain.

Bit late to the discussion but I have seen a site dedicated to maternity belts and support. Quite interesting and might be useful in the future for anyone.
