Internal at 40 week midwife appointment?

Does anyone know if your midwife does an internal at the 40 week appointment?

I know mine won't do a sweep until 41 weeks but not sure if she'll want to have a poke around and see what's going on!

Mine didn't.

Where normal care is concerned in a low risk pregnancy, probably not, no.

I am attempting a VBAC and as part of my care, the consultant has asked if I'll consent to an internal at 40 weeks to assess how we should progress with plans. It was made very clear to me that this was something to which I consented, not something which was routine.

No.

First internal I had last time was at 41+2 right before she was putting a pessary in there as I was in to be induced.
