Hi,this is my first baby, and at 20 weeks, just felt the first proper movements which are great. But has anyone else been as affected so emotionally by them? Sometimes I feel the movements and can't stop grinning, and other times, they make me feel nervous about the world - literaly butterflies in my stomach when I think about stopping work, breastfeeding etc? what's going on???

oranges this is my first as well, and the first 'proper' full day of kicks etc I couldn't stop grinning at my desk. (was about 20 weeks I think) - yes it was just b4 the scan he kicked non stop all day.

now thou I worry when he doesn't kick me! lol.

Its funny that it either makes me grin, or burst into tears with nerves - I suddenly get terrified I won't look after it properly. So far today, kick number 1 made me worry about cot death, kick number 2 was leaking amniotic fluid, kicknumber 3 was kicks stopping for two hours. aaahhhhh!!!!!!!!

lol. i'm the exact same, but i'm hoping it's 'normal' lol. esp since he's started being quieter - u wait soon u'll be poking him to get a kick! lol.

it's natural for us to worry thou. and so far i've concluded that i'll pick it up as we go along - or ask MN! lol.

I'm onto my 5th and I still worry about kicking -is it too hard, that one wasn't very hard, why is he kicking so much, why isn't he kicking.

Glad it's not just me!

Wait until its booting you in the rib cage at 5.00 in the morning. Both my kids always seemed to wake at this hour during pregnancy!!!!

totally normal oranges. welcome to motherhood! you will always worry about everything. Then you will worry about being worried. Or not

I remember when i was pregnant with DS 5 years ago i actually hated it when he would move! I cried because the feeling was so alien, people would tell me i would miss it when it was gone but i didnt believe them! Obviously i did and have treasured every kick and push that my baby does right now (37 weeks pregnant!) Worry is a normal thing too, its all about the hormones and our abilities as pregnant women to think rationally! The DUE IN DEC thread ladies would recommend chocolate to help sort it out!!

Awwww Munz just had a lovely flashback of when I used to prod my stomach to get baby to kick back

So easily forgotten are those memories now I have two boisterous 5 and 3 year olds
