This is my second pregnancy. With my first the sickness went at 16 weeks. Am still suffering mainly just with nausea but still sick every so often too. Also have very little energy. My first pregnancy was much better, why is it so bad this time? Sad

I feel your pain. I'm 17 weeks and still feeling nauseous 80% of the time and am throwing up 3-4 times a day. My doctor said that 20 weeks is another cut off point where things could improve and if it hasn't happened by then, chances are it won't. But I have no first hand experience yet..
It all sucks, doesn't it?!

Also, I keep being told by various doctors that every pregnancy is different, so I guess we've just been unlucky this time.

Have you had your thyroid checked? Pregnancy can cause an overactive thyroid which in turn leads to sickness.

Maybe you are having a girl?

Unfortunately some of us just do feel sick all the way through our pregnancies Sad. I know I certainly did when I was carrying my daughter and my first meal at home after having her was one of the most enjoyable meals I have ever had in my life because the nausea had finally vanished.

Hope it improves for all sufferers, and that at least the vomiting stops.

I had same as you. Was sick til 16 weeks with ds and then sick all the way thru with DD, even with metaclopramide. Probably not what you wanted to hear.

bibbity,
does carrying a girl make you more likely to be sick??? I'd love to have a girl...

I'm 23 weeks and still being sick! Brushing my teeth is an ordeal as its pretty much guaranteed to set me off. I also find changes in heat make me nauseous.

I try not to get too tired and drink lots as that def helps.

dont give up hope.

mine went away about 36 weeks..... by then i thought id have it to the end.

i droped to 1 anti-sick tabs about 37 weeks, and am 38 weeks now, still taking 1 a day, but only been sick twice in 2 weeks. Smile

Thanks for your replies. Feeling pretty good today :)

I find my anti sickness tablets make me feel sleepy which is really the last thing I need as I feel knackered anyway!

Am having a boy by the way, same as my first so it's nothing to do with the sex. Won't ever find out if it will be different with a girl as I am NEVER getting pregnant again!
