Pregnancy and Blood pressure problems

Hi, This is my third pregnancy to get this far i.e. 16+3. With my two dds I had bad blood pressure problems at the end. With dd2 the only way I got to stay out of hosptial was to purchase my own bp machine and monitor myself and phone in the results. I'm starting to get headaches and want to keep an eye on things. My gp is crap at such things and would tell me my blood pressure was fine whilst the Midwives went potty. So.... What should I keep an eye on? What should I report and what is urgent? I don't think I have a problem at the moment - just want to keep an eye on it.

hi wills, do you mean the numbers? or other things? how bad are the headaches?

Wills · 07/12/2005 18:26

Just the numbers. The headaches are always in the morning and are not nice but not impossible. Its more that I rarely get headaches. If I thought things were going awray I'd bypass my gp and go straight to the epu.

140/90 is considered high outside of pregnancy (and is usually treated with medication), mine was more like 120/70ish throughout, and the midwives looked pleased with that. I've had a migraine today (just flashing lights, no actual headache) which I'm sure is hormonal (I'm not pg ), and I know some women are more prone to them during pg. I can't believe you're 16 weeks

Oh hi ya Bundle, only just worked out it was you. I'm such a dozy lady at the moment. Thanks for that. Just wanted a guage.
